This is the big fear.
They’re struggling to fundraise as Soccer & Gah are really popular in Clonmel.

You get a few quid from IRFU for all the away games to cover some of the cost of travel. But it wouldn’t pay for overnighters.
Didn’t realise he is still playing. I saw them twice last season and they were very strong. He wasn’t togged either day but he didnt need to be either I guess. A brilliant club player at his best
Denis Leamy did a great job getting them up to a better level of prep in the couple of years he was there.
Big of sourness in Cashel that he fucked off to the Leinster academy but how the fuck they question that call is beyond me.
He owes them fuck all.
Yeah, hes as entitled as anyone else to make best decision for own career. Three competitive senior clubs is fair going in Tipp.
Leamy did v well with Clonmel. Small bit of a soft centre for a few years when they were the best team in the league and couldn’t win it. Always coughed up a win or two at home.
Greystones all the way. Games gone now though
Overnight away games in Ulster or the likes are 3k a pop. IRFU don’t cover that but they give a few quid alright.
They will probably do one or two overnighters max. Nobody really does it anymore
Yeah - roads are so good now that in most instances a bus trip will do it.
Early days but already a sense of the leagues as to who is strong and who is in danger:
The official website of the Irish Rugby Football Union
1A - UCC off to a great start but can they keep it up? Con up there again but you’d worry for Trinity and Ballynahinch
1B - Great start by Belvo and Highfield. Malone already struggling and Navan may struggle at this altitude
2A - Barnhall have serious momentum in the last couple of years after linking with Maynooth. Will UL Bohs slide down some more?
2B - Greystones came close to promotion last year and will surely be looking to go up this year. Ballina having gone up last year might be struggling
2C - Skerries will be looking to bounce back after relegation and Bruff have got off to a good start. Tullamore clung on last year but already look to be scrapping to stay up with the likes of Clonmel
Newly promoted ‘scorthy will be content with 6 pts from 2 games.
Very hard to read into it this early Shannon won first two games of last year and finished bottom. Trinity have a few guys caught up in Celtic cup. Hinch need to win home games to have any chance of staying up. Probably need 35-40 points to avoid relegation again this year and at least 12 wins for top 4.
Highfield are looking good and will be in mix for top 4. Belvo and Wes be pushing for top too. Shannon’s win in Malone is interesting as Malone were near top of table.in a mental league next year. Will Leonard is back on new 10 in from aboard will give them an edge.
Barnhall and Crescent have had great starts. Crescents first big test will be Cashel next week. Cashel probably favourites to top league and bullied Crescent in MSC a few weeks back. It finished 40 15 or there abouts in Rosbrien. Bohs or Dolphin will drop down this year. Sad considering they both were 1A recently. Contrasting to Highfield and Crescent who are heading in the other direction
Have Greystones retained or recruited well? Considering the teams that dropped from 2A last year arent expected to dominate. BlackRock and Greystones will battle out for top.
Skerries and Bruff will really pushing to get out of this league. I do think scorty will challenge top 4. Hard to write off Clonmel this early. Tullamore will have to bounce back like Bruff did last season or risk being dragged out of senior. 2C is a horrific league one bad season can ruin a club

Clonmel rugby actually came up in conversation last night. 4k for a trip up north.
Some whack for a club that size.
They would need 400 people paying €10 a head at a home game to cover that cost alone, let alone all the other costs in running the club
Or 800 people paying a fiver a head.
Would be great for 800 at any match regardless of cost
Some value in that real estate
