That’s the difference between middlin’ footballers and makey-up “wizards”.
Class as they say is irreplaceable. Connolly, like him or not, is a quality player.
Clarke went the right way and was close but the beauty of the strike beat him.
Connolly is a quality player, evidenced today by his workrate, burying his chances, getting Keegan off and thouroughly enjoying the win. If anyone has an issue with his contribution to their victory get back to me.
I’d tend to agree with you…but he’s a young lad too who isn’t being paid 300k a week.
He made a mistake on a night out but look he’s young to be fair…he paid a fairly heavy price for it in the national media…I’d like to give the fella the benefit of the doubt…
It wasn’t really…I had my car in the NCT center for the first 20 mins…watched the rest of it but by and large it was a forgettable affair as most AI replays are IMO.
Intriguing absolutely…but a great advertisement for Gaelic Football definitely not.
A good win for Dublin, scratchy but just enough. That Mayo team are carrying a few unlikeable fuckers that I’m not attraced to: ie: Higgens, Keegan, Boyle and mostly O’Connor the elder.
Of course they’ll never win the Sam until the curse expires - anyone thinking otherwise needs their heads examined.
No. He walked up behind some random stranger and blindsided him. That is not “a mistake on a night out”, and he got off pretty much Scott free as he is a Dublin football personality. I don’t like to bring nembo into it, but if Connolly had been from NI and done that in Dublin, he would have been rightly vilified, and rightly had a criminal record.
What Connolly did was to king hit a stranger from behind. He should have been given a criminal record at least.
I’m no sports psychologist but from everything i have read and listened to they would consider that bottling. He speed up his routine and it was distrirred from what i saw. He hardly ever misses on the near side. It was a clear technical breakdown. In my opinion. And leaving your technique go to crap is bottling on a set play like that.
