If they beat tipp I’ll be lumping on them to beat kk. I don’t think they’ll beat tipp tho.
I think Tipp have improved more than Galway since last year so I expect Tipp to win. Galway were strong enough against Clare but Clare were just poor.

Galway will have to find at least two more gears to beat Tipp… Like the KK game, I don’t think Galway will get enough from their HF line to trouble Tipp.
If that’s doesn’t work, the new Johnny Carroll DVD would really have them frothing at the mouth
For those of you who don’t know who the fuck Johnny Carroll is, here he is with his golden trumpet and that Tipp heifer, Louise Morrissey, at half time in the 88’ All Ireland
Delighted to give that it’s 10th mate.
Was it Tipp that squealed on Tony Keady?
And we’re off.
A win over Clare means nothing at the moment. Both Wexford and Cork were hammered after beating us in the last two years.
If Galway can beat Tipp now I think the time will be right for them. They’re young. They haven’t blown themselves out in the early season competitions. And they know they can put Kilkenny onto the backfoot when they get momentum. The big question is if they can hurl for 70 minutes at the intensity needed to do so.
If Galway were to beat Tipp, I think it would be their year, but I suspect Tipp will have too much for them. And unless TJ, Richie or Mick Fennelly get injured, I expect Tipp to shit their pants at the sight of KK as usual.
The bookies really fancy this Tipp team. I think there is a bit of value in Galway though but Tipp are rightly favourites having beaten Waterford with little fuss. Clare is our benchmark and its really hard to gauge how good or how bad Calre are. Personally I think they are poor enough.
Daithi Burke will surely be assigned to Callanan and it should be some duel. I cant see him scoring 3 goals again but I do expect some damage from him.
Our forwards are the key to beating Tipp and not so much their scoring but their work in stopping Tipps back delivering decent ball into the forwards. Johnny Glynn is a real loss for this type of game and we havent really replaced him.
I look at Tipps forwards and midfield and from what I have seen of them in 2016 they look like the have more scoring variety upfront than Galway. That said Galway will give them a right rattle more of a rattle than Waterford gave them and as usual with recent Tipp teams it will be interesting to see how they behave when they get swarmed and landed on their arses in the early stages of the game the next day. Remember this Galway team have backed themselves into a corner, the Loughnane comments were a red herring, this groups motivation goes back to the harvest of 2015.
This will be worth the entry price alone. There is a major loss of influence from Burke having to shift him back into full back though. If Galway make the final he is their lead contender for hurler of the year.
Whatever happened ronan Burke? Is he still in the panel? Is he related to any of the other horde of burke’s ye have?
Galway v Tipp:
The Burkes v the Mahers
Daithi’s brother. Or as Ger Canning calls him, Daw-Hee.
Ronan is Daithi older brother. He was on the extended panel for the league but I havent seen him on the match day program recently.
Paul Kileen on our bench is another strong option for full back. Wouldnt be the quickest but serious presence. He had a massive game for our 21’s when ye beat us last year.
We learned fuck all from hammering Cork last year either. Whelan, mannion and flynn are all a year older and if the latter two find form we’ve a great chance. More confident than I was last year.
I honestly think that Munster final result is meaningless. Tipp beat Waterford with even less fuss in 2011 and were very lucky to get past Dublin in the semi-final. The last time they won a Munster final handily before that was '93, where things didn’t go so well for them either.
Tipp look fantastic when they have the upper hand and can do a lot of damage in a short space of time. But their ability to win a real battle is unproven.
Yes, agreed and it will be a real battle.
Are you going?
Tipp seem to be far better conditioned this year. All the pundits reckoned Waterford would win the Munster Final because Tipp wouldn’t be able for them physically. Tipp blew them away.
Cork and Limerick were also talked up in that they were going give loads to Tipp physically.
It’s noticeable how the defenders are breaking the 1st tackle before clearing or laying off the ball. Galway will certainly be a step up in terms of fronting up and hard hits.
Referencing 1993 is bizarre in the extreme.
