All-Ireland U-21 2013

No but they are beyond useless

The nine week lay off disadvantages wexford. Yet the 12 month lay off is a huge advantage for galway…

All Ireland semi finals are set for Thurles on Saturday week. Not a hope of Galway beating us in Thurles

Kevin Ryan insists Antrim can win an All-Ireland U21 HC title inside the next three years.
The Waterford native is in charge of the Saffrons side that will square up to Wexford in an All-Ireland U21 semi-final in Thurles on Saturday week and he sees no reason why the Glensmen can’t go all the way at this level - if not this year then certainly by 2015:
“The talent in the 19- and 20-year-olds is there,” he points out in The Irish News. "I’d be interested in getting some of those players into the senior set-up and giving them a year’s experience and try and get them in a position to get to and win an All-Ireland title by 2015 at U21.
"From watching Waterford and different teams around the country - and I’ve seen a lot of U21 championship games this year - there are really only one or two teams I’d be frightened of.
"There is an inferiority complex in Antrim, regardless of what anybody says. But there is some of that good minor team that was there five or six years ago who have a different attitude.
“If we can make that attitude contagious, others might pick up on it. There are some players who don’t feel that inferiority complex.”

Fucking Thurles

An obvious middle ground between Wexford and Antrim

Could any one the Galway posters on here hazard a guess as to what the Galway team will be on Saturday evening

I believe Daithi Burke, Ger Donoghue and Dean Higgins were all abroad for the summer and are not part of the panel. Not 100 % though.

He is on the panel

The Gaa and the senior championship could really do with taking on board some of the stuff the Under 21 championship and Bord Gais do in terms of promotion and social media. Credit where credit is due they always have plenty of interviews with players and their ambassadors in the lead up to games along with plenty of promo videos and the likes online which are far better than anything put together for the Senior competitions. No doubt on a far smaller budget too

Couldnt agree more, they’ve been very good over the years, but have really stepped it up last year and again this year. This has popped up today in Windmill Lane

By jesus…

I met a few Clare folk in Kinvara this morning and the levels of confidence before this evenings clash with Galway are nothing short of sky high…

Justifiable I supposed…?..

It’s justified if they perform …

And I’m pretty sure they will

Well the odds dont lie. We have no form going into it.

I havent heard Clare fans as confident since the late 90s.
