Tyrone were 9/4 today.
Why didn’t anyone from Tyrone go to the game? Are they all wanted by the Garda?
Anyway Tyrone clearly better, good solid team, strong around the middle. The senior could do with a few of the central lads stepping up. Rosscommon were very naive though.
Thought, what I saw, of the first semi was higher on quality. However that won’t matter much. Tyrone do have more big game experience on the line. That’s helpful, if not match winning. Tipp probably have the better individuals, but it should be close.

Heavily protected though. Tipp have the size to mix it up a bit. Would be interesting if they did.
10s
Tyrone will have a plan for the Tipperary mid-field I’d imagine.
Any of the Tipp or Tyrone posters willing to leave the board over the outcome of this match?
I’m willing to leave for the duration of the match.
That’s more than most of the Tipp based posters here did today anyway.
Would be worth considering throwing one of the bigger players in @14 and putting SOB at midfield. Tyrone are set up to deal with ground running attacks. Pushing them back may well upset Tyrone and test their full back line in a different way.
@Mullach Ide can you see that this gets to the proper people? It could be the winning and losing of an All Ireland.
Hamspey and Mullan were cleaning up on ball that was played in early to the full forward line, it was very comfortable for Tyrone in the end, Smith is a big lad but Hampsey handled him really well today.
Midfield is an issue for Tyrone, neither Burns or McShane are naturals there. Tyrone were apparently slaughtered in this area late on in the game with Donegal when they started to push up on kickouts. Tyrone have some lovely stylish footballers up front and a really well balanced team with no real stars. I would expect them to win.
I’ve seen Roscommon a bit over the last few years and they definitely seem to be overhyped.

While O’Brien and O’Riordan are stand-outs on the Tipperary team, they are pretty well balanced as well with an excellent half back line, well able to take a score as well.
When is the final?
Two weeks time?

McShane, Brennan and Bradley are currently on the senior panel and I’d expect McGeary and Burns to join the squad after the u21 has finished. Hampsey looked really good and will probably be brought in as well as we don’t have too many natural man markers in the panel.
I’d like to see McNulty in the senior setup as well but the fact that you’ve had 3 Clonoe men depart the panel recently then it would seem unlikely he will join the senior squad this season as it would look like the club are putting a lot of pressure on the players. Plenty of quality in that Tyrone attack, Lee Brennan is going to be a fantastic player but I wouldn’t involve him with seniors yet, we already have the likes of McCurry, McAliskey, O’Neill and Bradley on the senior panel who are all small skillful corner forwards so we are well stocked there. He’s just out of minor so I’d hold off for another year or two before involving him. Interesting that Logan doesn’t start Bradley or Brennan together, Bradley started the opening game against Fermanagh but picked up an injury before the Armagh game and Brennan has came in and kept his place.
14 points from play was very impressive, I also thought Roscommon were very cynical today and the referee allowed them to get away with fouling high up the pitch all game.
It’s pencilled in for May 2nd. Venue TBC

Interesting that none of the respective minor winners of the same age bracket have won the U21 in the past 12 years. Tyrone were the last team to do this with a minor title in 98 and success in 2001 in the u21. Also interesting that it’s back to 2004 since an Ulster side last won an u21 title, yet they have had big success in the minor age bracket at the same time - winning 7 of the 12 minor titles in that time period.

How many of the Tipp minor winning team are on the current U21 team?
I do not know.

Not all that interesting really, young lads love the sauce. Simps.
