that’s them…yes, i’d agree…
Tyrell, JJ, Tommy, Phelan, Fogarty, Rice, Tennyson, Michael Fennelly, Cha, Power, Larkin, TJ. I’ve no doubt forgotten a few.
They win this argument, for now.
Not sure. Tipp team with Nicky, Donie O’Connell, Pat Fox, Bobby Ryan, John McGrath , Pat McGrath, Ian Conroy, Philip Kennedy, Cormac Bonnar and John McIntyre was fairly special.

No way was JJ Delaney on the same u21 team as Richie Power. Same with Tyrell I’d imagine
The KK team in mid 2000’s must be in the reckoning, even though they were filling into an already successful Senior team. Those Cork and Tipp teams went on to end droughts.
A quick search brings this back
2003: D Herity; G Joyce, C Hickey, M Phelan; K Coogan, J Tyrell, JJ Delaney; S Hennessy, T Walsh; C Phelan, P Cleere, W O’Dwyer; A Fogarty, M Rice, B Dowling. Subs: S O’Neill, E McCormack.
2004: D Herrity; S. Maher, J. Tennyson, M. Fennelly; T. Walsh, P.J. Delaney, C. Hoyne; S. Hennessy, P. Cleere; S. O’Neill, W. O’Dwyer, E. Reid; C. Fitzpatrick, C. Phelan, R. Power. Subs: M. Rice for Fitzpatrick (injured, second half); B. Dowling for Cleere and E. Larkin for Reid (52nd minute); J. Phelan for O’Neill and N. Doherty for Delaney (56th).
Who said they were? Years apart were they not?
My boy blue
FWP put up back to back teams, as did I. Isnt that him corner forward on the second team or am I mistaken?

Thought JJ was older actually. Power and Cha must have been young enough on that 04 team
JJ born in 82
Richie in 85
Cha in 85
Conor Phelan was a fine prospect back then, shame about his heart problems.
Cork side from '88 very tasty also
CORK: Tom Kingston, Christy Connery (Captain), Damien Irwin, Tony O’Keeffe, Cathal Casey, Pat Kenneally, Kieran McGuckian, Liam Kelly, Mickey Mullins, Barry Harte, John Tobin, Frank Horgan, Ger Manley, Mark Foley, John Fitzgibbon
some FF line, also included tonights manager

feck that means John Fitzgibbon was at most 21 in 1988 so could still have hurling in 1999 with Cork!!
what was the last season he hurled with Cork?
Result as expected. Good win over Waterford all the same.

That wasn’t a vintage team. Very few went in to play senior championship.
What’s more able is how many left Ireland not long after. Must have been a big connect with Boston/New York. Several players immigrated or spent summers there from tht side.
They weren’t beaten by Clare they were beaten by their county board lackey of a manager and a county board who appointed said lackey. It’s so sad to see young fellas formative careers being destroyed like that but it’s always the same in Cork! Now Clare are a fine team but a Cork team should never be beaten out the gap at half time.JBM really is performing miracles as senior manager.
Dry your eyes mate, it could have been worse, you might have travelled to support them
As i said my sympathies are with those young fellas who have had to put up with that ape Pat Kenneally for the entirety of their formative years with Cork.My problem apart from yourself isn’t with Clare. It’s with the clown school that are running the gaa in the county.
you cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear
Saw the Cork Minors play in 2011 and 2012 - without doubt the worst Cork hurling teams I’ve ever seen.
I think you’ll find that in fact they were beaten out the gate by Clare. The mope on the sombrero clown was the clue. Should have been worse too as the full back should have seen red for his petulant pull on Shane O’Donnell when they were getting shamed.
