Savage pace to it three days after a Munster final… taking nothing away from Clare but the Waterford lads just couldnt get up to the same tempo that we’ve seen from them in the past. I presume a potential Limerick v Clare final would be on in Cusack park?

Waterford sat De Burca in front of him for most of the game and Clare simply didn’t bother putting the ball into him. Given how dominant De Burca was in the last game it suited Clare to have him on the periphery.

O’Donnell’s game isn’t to get the ball and stroke it over the bar, he is an outstanding ball winner and can win it whatever way it is put into him and is excellent at laying it off and bringing others into play. Of course it is quite hard to do when he has nobody running off him consistently at senior level but that isn’t his fault

His ball winning and close control is class and against Limerick this year he had those runners… his decision making can be frustrating but when he is on his own a lot there’s not much he can do.
