Allianz Hurling League 2017 - Round of 4

Be prepared to be entertained by Mourinho’s footballing style

Damien has a lot to say about a team that “needs to step up” for a lad who won fuck all at inter county and played on an inter county team that never stepped up ffs sake. He’s a gas man. The Limerick players he is speaking about have as much won as himself and a good few years ahead of them for both club and county. Not the most intelligent of blokes I’d say…

It’s almost like Damien is deliberately saying controversial things in an effort to get some sort of a media role out of it.

Did you know Damien was on the Marty Squad?

Damien ALWAYS stepped up.

While I doubt he does have a huge amount of intelligence, to give the man his dues, he has 6 county titles, 4 All Ireland titles as well as a Leinster title, won against the greatest team of all time. He has 3 All Stars, 2 National Hurling Leagues. I’ll omit his mickey mouse Connacht titles.

What Limerick man has as much as that?

He gets my admiration for the time he landed Hugh Moloney on his arse before smashing the winner against Chipp in 2005.

Can’t understand what all the fuss is about over his comments.

Good luck to him if he gets it. Trying to hide in the long grass is a bit pathetic anyway really. Try your best in every game, and it’s good enough, or it isn’t.

What Hayes says is what 99% of hurling supporters think . Galway are 2 years ahead of Limerick . Anyone saying anything else is delusional . It doesn’t matter what Hayes won in his career .

After taking like 20 steps. With any sort of competent ref, Moloney would have been considered to do well in holding him up.

I think this is true tbh, but it’s Galway we are talking about.
I don’t think that this Galway side will show the belly to anyone, and will be tough, fit, and hard beaten (there are plenty of teams who could beat them, but they’ll know they’ve been in a game)
Having been scarred in the past, all Galway hurling teams scare the shit out of me though on some fundamental level.

Apart from the Aquaduct , Sanitation , Roads, Irrigation, Medicatio Water, Education , Security and Wine …what have the Romans ever done for us

Galway are favourites for a reason but it’s more the tone of the comments that people are looking at. Galway are further ahead than Limerick, but it is only the league, they may not be at full tilt. There was only 3 points in it a few weeks ago when Limerick didn’t turn up for the second half. It wouldn’t be a massive shock if Limerick won.

Our record against Galway is fucking muck, alongside Kilkenny they are the only side I have never seen us beat in the 23 years ive been following Limerick(not including regular league games) when was the last time we beat them in a knockout game at senior level?

Limerick are currently cat - Hayes is bang on, Galway are a lot further down the road.

End.

Think it might be 1940 in the Championship, I’m sure we might have beaten them in a league semi-final some time in the 90s.

To be fair, we’ve barely played them since. We would have beaten the fuckers in 73 but they lost to London.

Jesus…Christ.

Yeah, the League Final in 97 is the last time we’ve beaten them in a knockout match.
