Its bound to end in tears, but in fairness to the chap he is starting to look healthier and seems to have a little bit more balance to even his interviewing.

Like anything building a team or a business or whatever is 2 steps forward 1 step back and KK has a head for that one would imagine, but the building excitement about this team was insane and illogical

Weâll walk all over you banjo playing cunts.
Clare are bad a lot of work to do
Just watching the Wexford-KK game back tonight and itâs thrilling at times to see how Wexford are taking it to them. I canât remember the last time I saw a Wexford team look like this. There are periods in the game where theyâre not just dominant in general play, theyâre rampant. But the return isnât there yet which is the issue. I think that physically they are fine as far as the legs go, but they are giving up a bit of size in some sectors and if they get dragged into a physical battle with Kilkenny theyâll wear down faster. The way around that is touch and speed which should be the only thing they are working on between now and June 10th. I think that has become the canât miss game of the provincial championships now. The atmosphere will be terrific.
Also, I donât know how good of a centre-back your man Cleere is for Kilkenny. But from what Iâve seen he has a serious strike of a ball.
As recently as last midweek I was expressing concern on here about our physicality and size in defence. 5 of Sundayâs 7 starting defenders - both corner backs, wing backs and Shaun Murphy as sweeper - are relatively small.
The defensive spine is solid enough with Liam Ryan and Matthew OâHanlon but I looked at a potential half forward line of Fennelly, Reid and Walsh and thought theyâd trouble us as a unit in the air and with their power.
Our defensive match ups worked far better than I expected though. James Breen came out from corner back to man mark Reid throughout and did a terrific job while OâHanlon followed Walsh everywhere and OâKeeffe held Fennelly scoreless.
I donât think Devereux will be a championship starter but he was able to keep Martin quiet. Liam Ryan nullified Richie Hogan and he ultimately went foraging out the field and young Damien Reck also did a commendable job on Blanchfield (who was probably the best Kilkenny forward on the day and got a few scores). And then Murphyâs reading of the game and alertness to danger was really important too.
I donât think we would replicate that defensive dominance to such an extent if the same group of players came up against each other again. But we have some other options - a fully fit and disciplined Andrew Shore potentially adds size and physicality to the half back line. Jack OâConnor can move back there from midfield with Chin playing a deeper midfield role if required too. We also have Eoin Moore and Simon Donohoe to fight for a corner back place.
@Gman mentioned our attacking threat on the Wexford GAA thread and I think we should be capable of streamlining and improving what was already a very slick attacking display on Sunday. The progress from game to game is very apparent and our angled deliveries from deep mixed with shorter passing combination play, support runs and excellent off the ball movement was really impressive against Kilkenny. I donât see why that canât continue on an upward curve as the weather improves and the ground hardens - it should actually suit our players and, again, weâve other options with Liam Ăg McGovern and Podge Doran to return from injury and Rory OâConnor as a potential wild card after the Leaving Cert.
No.
