Changed times. Beating Kilkenny, Tipperary and Cork, the old Big Three in the same league campaign would once have constituted a major achievement for Wexford. Now theyâre the fixtures that are targeted as representing realistic prospects of a win. Wexford came up short against two thirds of the new Big Three - Clare and Limerick. Saturday in Salthill against the third of that trio will be a good barometer of where Wexford are at.

Their style of play is suited to that era too. We shouldnât be surprised at their reluctance to change with the times, evolution was always a slow process down that way.
