I think Tony Kelly pretending to be injured afterwards might have lessened the impact of it

Wasnt even a tackle. Kelly raised his arm to protect himself and caught him high with elbow/forearm. Nothing malicious in it but red card all day for dangerous play

The Kelly red was marginal, I thought. By the strict letter of the law (in January), fair enough.
However, the same incident in a championship game in June would see a yellow being dished out. Early season inconsistency as usual.
