Iâm spiritually, and philosophically, in Limerick tonight.
He had them purring
Exhibit a of that fellas knowledge of hurling
Just the 12 scorers for Limerick this evening
We were only toying with them.
The league is box office
It looked like Tipp didnât even try to work a goal tonight. A mark of Cahills teams is a forward getting the ball in hand and running hard at the defender/ goal. Tonight it was gather the ball and try and fire over a point.
Maybe the space just wasnât there for them but over the course of 70 mins I donât recall them trying to much of it.
Tipp put everything into that and came up well short against half a Limerick team. Bit like Waterford a couple of years. Thatâll be a huge blow to morale.
Limerick system is untouchable.
Kilkenny in their pomp still a better side from a viewing perspective, they beat teams scoring a lot more goals in games.
Limerick are so well tuned, they never panic and continue to support off the shoulder for 70 mins. Their goal tonight was soft and other than that ball in there was there another chance?
As for Tipp, impressive first half but legs ran dry after 50 mins.
The few subs made no impact at all.
Geroid OâConnor was very impressive and didnât see enough ball second half.
Tynan had a eye catching opening half but went out of it then.
OâMara seems to be adjusting to the level of it.
Negatives, the corner backs wonât do.
Donât think McCormack is the answer at 7, nor Kennedy at 10.
Bonnar was middling to poor and Jake Morris didnât inspire.
Cahill & Co can be happy with the few new faces.
Kiely & Co knew what they had beforehand.
They wonât be touched from here out.
Lovely pat on the head there for Tipperary from Kiely. Thatâll drive the lads mad
I think he might only have three Pampers.
Dunno about tough on morale but the scoreline massively wrong as regards Limericks actual dominance.
The Tipp players know deep down tonight that they wonât be winning an All Ireland any time soon.
Limerick largely play within themselves and arenât as ruthless as that KK team but they generally can do what they have to in most situations. Itâs a fantastic trait to have.
Be interesting to see how KK go tomorrow.
As regards a team working a few goals to threaten LK, they seem the only candidates.
Of course.
If you donât concede goals with that setup then youâre hard beaten.
The shooting of all players from distance is awesome.
Bevans & Butthead must be sick of Kiely & Kinnerk at this stage, they might head of to some backwater like Laois and try their luck there.
Hopefully KK win tomorrow and set up a proper contest where both sides can go for it.
