Think There’s still something too agricultural about Clare that will stop them from winning the big prize.
The stripes on the shoulders don’t look great
Ah you’d have to be delighted for the banner. They went balls-deep for the league and have earned the cup the hard way. Hope they are all ok for training Tuesday evening.
There’s a lad behind Jarly in a cowboy hat and it’s not in any county colours. He’s just wearing a cowboy hat
That rat (in the best sense of the word) of a corner back got motm?
Powerful stuff by young Hogan in the second half. The red jumper emerging with the ball was a sight to behold. The Kilkenny goal was brilliant. I find Donnelly a bit of an enigma, very talented & great vision but doesn’t seem to impose himself on games enough. Can go long spells without featuring but then produce something classy. Good for Clare to have something to show for their improvement under Lohan though their ambitions are obviously loftier than a league. Thought Darragh Lohan was very good too & they’ve clearly added depth to their squad.
The proud tradition of misprouncing club names is continuing under Jarly anyway
Jarly mugged off Clare there by telling Kilkenny they’d bigger fish to fry
Jarly walking into semple and calling Kilkenny the home of hurling
He fucked up kilmaley but otherwise powerful stuff. You get the sense he’s a fan of the microphone.
Kilmally
Did Miltown Malbay get a mention?
Óráid inspioráideach.
“He plays his football with Miltown Malbay”
I think Brian Lohan is smiling here.
Hurling needs Clare now more than ever
His face crumpled when yer man asks if it was a perfect league
Well done to Clare. An admirable bunch of hurlers. Better team won. Thought beforehand Clare would do it. And so matters proved.
Happy that Brian Lohan has won silverware, which will grig a liitle prickaun.
Terribly worrying second half fadeout from a Kilkenny perspective.
Great to see Clare so excited about winning it. It’s like an All Ireland really in these times of the all conquering Limerick.
In the round robin era - 2018/2019/2022/2023, the Munster round robin record of teams who have reached the League final is as follows:
2018: Tipperary (lost League final) - 2 points, 4th place
2019: Limerick (won League final) - 4 points, 2nd place
2019: Waterford (lost League final) - 0 points, 5th place
2022: Waterford (won League final) - 2 points, 4th place
2022: Cork (lost League final) - 4 points, 3rd place
2023: Limerick (won league final) - 5 points, 2nd place
The Munster round robin record of these teams isn’t a great advertisement for reaching a League final. Three of the six failed to qualify, two more only scraped in. Limerick in 2019 were the only team that qualified with a degree of comfort and that final was seven weeks before their first championship game.
