Ah you’d have to be delighted for the banner. They went balls-deep for the league and have earned the cup the hard way. Hope they are all ok for training Tuesday evening.

Powerful stuff by young Hogan in the second half. The red jumper emerging with the ball was a sight to behold. The Kilkenny goal was brilliant. I find Donnelly a bit of an enigma, very talented & great vision but doesn’t seem to impose himself on games enough. Can go long spells without featuring but then produce something classy. Good for Clare to have something to show for their improvement under Lohan though their ambitions are obviously loftier than a league. Thought Darragh Lohan was very good too & they’ve clearly added depth to their squad.

Well done to Clare. An admirable bunch of hurlers. Better team won. Thought beforehand Clare would do it. And so matters proved.
Happy that Brian Lohan has won silverware, which will grig a liitle prickaun.

In the round robin era - 2018/2019/2022/2023, the Munster round robin record of teams who have reached the League final is as follows:
2018: Tipperary (lost League final) - 2 points, 4th place
2019: Limerick (won League final) - 4 points, 2nd place
2019: Waterford (lost League final) - 0 points, 5th place
2022: Waterford (won League final) - 2 points, 4th place
2022: Cork (lost League final) - 4 points, 3rd place
2023: Limerick (won league final) - 5 points, 2nd place
The Munster round robin record of these teams isn’t a great advertisement for reaching a League final. Three of the six failed to qualify, two more only scraped in. Limerick in 2019 were the only team that qualified with a degree of comfort and that final was seven weeks before their first championship game.
