Allianz National Hurling League 2024

Haven’t seen much of Boro in the flesh over past couple of seasons. His technique and striking look like he needs an abundance of space to be effective which he will not be afforded at inter county level.

I had a lot of sympathy for Jonny on the shoulder call, I had a decent view of it in the stand and it looked a body check in real time and a free. Jonny was the opposite angle to it and was adamant it was a fair shoulder and signalled twice it was shoulder to shoulder before deferring to his linesman who had the far better view of it and deemed it a free and yellow card.

Damned if you do and damned if you don’t

Played wing back for boro last year. Has pace but his unorthodox wally /taggy style striking goes against him.

Eoin Murphy was badly beaten twice on his nearside. Him looking for McCarthy on the ground after the third goal and leading with his knees summed up his day.

A pretty poor display of puckouts from both goalies for the most part, very hit and hope. A real throw back to 15 years ago.

Quilligan’s puckouts v Tipp were bang on the money, given that Lohan didn’t sen overly bothered but was chewing the inside forwards out of it for a lack of movement in the first half makes me think that there was no real puck out strategy and powder being kept dry.

I don’t doubt it. An aimless long ball will always be an advantage to a back.

Not sure about Lohan at 9 but happy enough with the rest of the team. Didn’t think 11 would suit Rodgers but he will work away switching with Kelly during games

I think Lohan is probably more a half back and I think he will hold up ok, he is assured enough on the ball and tries hard. He has had a solid league, I doubt many saw him as an option in January. I’d be surprised if he keeps a midfield spot for the remainder of the league but would rather him starting over the likes of Morey or Golden who were the previous back up options. Hopefully Taylor makes it back for the last two games - Rynne and O’Neill will be pushing next year for minutes.

Nothing is guaranteed in the bear pit that is Leinster hurling.

Carlow looked a serious serious outfit the last day out against Laois. They’ll rattle a few and put a score on the likes of Dublin

Adam Hogan is the best young hurley i have seen in a long time. Nasty streak to him too.

McCarthy was standing fairly central on the 14 yard line completely unmarked & hit the ball at around 90% of his max power for the first goal & ran clean through & batted past Murphy one on one from around 10 yards for the 2nd…there was absolutely nothing he could do about either score unless he gets lucky & McCarthy makes a mistake of some kind…some shite talk there Pasquale

What are your thoughts on Irish immigration?

Murphy might be fading out. A dirty enough attempt on McCarthy when scoring his goal as well.

Ah, I dunno. The third quarter looked pretty much like – another – fadeout to me.

Eoghan Murphy was poor last night.
Cody’s peno was brutal.
Fitzgerald took about 10 steps for his goal.

Thats the game
