They installed a new drainage system the length of Mackey Stand, so had to reseed a nice bit along the sideline. The very wet & cold weather has hindered growth, hence the delay in it being game ready.

It needs to be consistently over 10 deg for grass to germinate. That’s only happening from now on. So it’s hard to understand what they were hoping for. They should have re-sod it.
It was always very wet there under the stand. Gets no sun at all.

Was that April that we had real fine but cool enough also. Wind from the east.
For grass to grow you need heat and plenty of rain. If the germinating seed dries out, it’s a gonner.
So March is the best month for seeding a lawn. Temps are up, soil is moist and the grass gets a head start on the weeds. They germinate at higher temperatures to grass.
