JBM and this new Cork team he has built are alright sorts.
indeed and that it some achievement as they had a lot of ground to make up after some of the antics of the previous brigade. read an interview with Pa Cronin in lead up to todays game. doesn’t hit me as a lad whose heart was ever in the strikes and its clear he has regrets about them
The previous brigade did nothing wrong Kerry man. The strikes were a necessary evil.JBM had to work with an underage system that was badly neglected and still is badly neglected by a county board that are still in power!
The cork hurlers of the striking era seemed like alright sorts with the exception of Gardner, Niall McCarthy, Sean Og and Diarmuid O’ Sullivan. Sean Og is just a bit of a tool really but a pain in the hole all the same. Also your man Froggy Murphy, wasn’t he a bit of an arsehole?
It is the other Kieran Murphy you are thinking of. “Hero”
Yes, I knew it was one of them
Owen Keegan
Was just searching for this thread to post same
:o
GAA commercial director Peter McKenna says he’d be prepared to swear an affidavit that Owen Keegan had assured him all 5 gigs would go ahead.
Thats Keegan well and truly MUGGED OFF. Expect his resignation in days.
The GAA & Peter McKenna are scrambling here to avoid a lawsuit
Paddy Barnes.
What was he expecting, GSTQ? He’s representing Northern Fucking Ireland, partitionist cunt, in a competition that celebrates imperialism.
If it’s not his anthem, then what is he doing there in the first place? No self respecting Irish man would be there.

Danny Boy shouldn’t be anyone’s anthem.
He’s there because he takes the schilling and has to give back.

He’s highlighting the oppression and injustice of the native people of Ireland. He fights for Ireland.
If he fights for Ireland, what is he doing representing Northern Fucking Ireland? And what is he doing at a competition that celebrates the legacy of British imperialism?
He can fuck right off.
I suspect he is simply fighting for Northern Ireland, a country he perceives as his own, more than any other. I cycle every weekend with an ex ulster rugby player, born and reared northern Protestant. I speak to him about this a lot. I ask him who he would cheer for in Ireland vs England games. Ireland absolutely. He considers himself northern Irish though, rather than Irish. He hasn’t a bigoted bone in him.

So they should have played GSTQ?
Well, you would expect an Ulster rugby player to cheer for Ireland in Rugby. Why the fuck would they cheer for England? Even the staunchest Unionist would cheer for Ireland over England in Rugby.
Why go looking for trouble? It would be blatantly antagonistic. The rights and wrongs should be ignored. If they are happy with Danny boy, then that’s fine.
