Calm down mate.
There is no consensus within the concussion research community on a causal link between CTE and head trauma due to concussions playing American football. The media reporting on this is one sided and predictably sensational. The studies such as the one presented here are highly selective (even the author admitted selection bias) in that most of the brains studied were donated by families who suspected their loved ones suffered from brain impairment.

There are numerous causes and diseases for brain impairment, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, etc. A study conducted at Loyola Univ in Chicago which looked more broadly at a spectrum of former NFL players and non-athletes, found that there was no difference in cognitive impairment (MCI) between the two groups.

Not saying concussion isn’t a problem in NFL or other sports, or CTE isn’t a thing, but the media is way out in front of the science on this one.

I hear Jim is doing very well as a number 2, or as they call it in China, a King Prawn with Green Pepper and Black Bean Sauce.

Are you comparing a concussion from banging your head off the cupboard to a brain injury from a car crash?

Where are you getting that from? You said a concussion was like banging your knee. Now it’s tapping your head off a cupboard ?? Bizarre logic from you.

However, if while concussed from banging your head off the cupboard, you managed to bang it again, and then again - you’d be veering towards the territory you’re on about with the car.

I believe our discussion was around players being left on the pitch while being concussed? Didn’t some young lad suffer brain damage from that very cause?

Why are you campaigning to have American football banned you cunt. You’d have nothing to do for six months of the year.

Stop trying to deflect away from the topic, kid. This disgusting bloodsport that you worship is killing men in their droves just to satisfy your craven bloodlust. You disgust me and I hope something fucking awful happens to you this weekend.

Everyone knows the dangers of American Football and we are all happy with that as it’s there pre contract-- It’s the denial from rugby folk like @Horsebox that’s sickening.

Excessive drinking kills far more men (and women) than any sport, let alone NFL, and you are fine with that.

The Chinese league is going bust. Jim will be home before Christmas.

That never happened

You might indeed get brain damage from repeated concussion. You also might indeed get brain damage from being left on a pitch while concussed.

Neither of those scenarios however mean that concussion = brain damage. If you crash your car you might be brain damaged. That does not mean car crash = brain damage

Its simple enough to understand really if you wanted to understand it

Ok, I got you. 1 concussion is not brain damage but if you get another 1 on top of it you could well be brain damaged even tho 1 concussion is not brain damage?

so anything above 1 concussion could be brain damage - but just 1 concussion is just like banging your knee.

:ok_hand:

Do you encourage your kids to drink excessively?

No mate, I encourage them to drink responsibly.

The “right on” crew are gonna substitute football on Sundays for non competitive ice skating with no straight white males allowed.

Ah ok you are just being facetious. I made the mistake of taking you seriously. Goodbye caller

Fuck yourself.
