I am no fan of Trump but I was in the States earlier this year and I noticed the massive anti-Trump bias on CNN alright. Hours devoted to how bad Trump is instead of actually moving past it and on to a solution. Is is possible to have a reasonably fact based TV news reporting system in the States?
Not any longer, CNN and MSNBC journalists now see themselves as political activists and part of the âresistanceâ. Both are now as biased as Fox, with almost no dissent allowed to their chosen narrative.
CNN and MSNBC will absolutely not cover the ideology of the Dayton shooter on primetime TV, but will spend hours on the ideology of the El Paso shooter.
In reality though it matters little, very few people actually watch any of these channels (a few million a night in a country of 330 million), CNNs ratings have been plunging this year.
The more scary thing is that most people are now getting their news almost exclusively from their social media feeds. âI saw it on Facebookâ somehow makes something believable.
You wouldnât have the figures for terrorism in the US in recent years by any chance, would you?
Like, who is behind terror in the US and whatâs their motive?
That would be very instructive, wouldnât you think?
What a load of crap.
CNN consistently run stories through Trumpâs framing.
Any perso with any shred or morals or decency has an anti-Trump bias because Trump is a far right demagogue with no redeeming features whatsoever, who fests on cruelty and who has completely dispensed with the concept of truth.
So the self proclaimed left warrior wants to have bias in media reporting.
Iâd rather think for myself - thanks mate.
If you think racist demagoguery should not be reported as being racist, you are part of the problem.
If you think outright lies should not be reported as outright lies, you are part of the problem.
The #marian school of journalism.
I think the moral bankruptcy of the right wing gutter press in the US was summed up by this editorial in the Wall Street Journal today.
Itâs a direct and mendacious attempt to draw a false equivalence of political motives of the El Paso and Dayton mass murders in order to protect Trump and demonise Elizabeth Warren.
The El Paso murderer specifically committed his atrocity for right-wing political means and his so called âmanifestoâ (read: racist rant) was directly inspired by Trumpâs hateful rhetoric.
There is zero comparison in terms of motive between the two mass murders. There was no left-wing or liberal motive for Dayton whatsoever.
This is denied by the Wall Street Journal, who make an obvious attempt to link Warren and her politics to the Dayton murderer while mendaciously claiming not to.
This is a favourite tactic of the gutter right-wing US media. Warren and Bernie Sanders have never uttered any rhetoric which could incite violence.
The Wall Street Journalâs tactic here is âboth sides, one as bad as the otherâ. There is no both sides here. The Democratic party does not have racist demagogues inciting violence. The Republican party does, and plays unashamedly to right-wing racism and other bigotry. Right-wing terror is the threat and has been responsible for an overwhelming majority of US terrorism for years now, at the same time as Trump has downgraded it as a threat.
A gutter piece of right wing trash and an affront to not just journalism but morals, decency and truth, like pretty much everything associated with right-wing politics in the US these days.
I think CNN now realise they as much as anyone, and way more than Russia, were responsible for trump being elected and canât make peace with that.
The election is not national of course due to the electoral college. nothing will tip the balance in hard blue or red states so what the media reports there is irrelevant. Its the few swing states that decide it. CNN in mid 2015 decided trump, even though he was peripheral, was box office. Its no exaggeration to say they gave him near round the clock coverage. I was living that side so saw it. And while they were critical of him, it meant undecided or moveable voters were exposed to his rhetoric. They heard crooked hillary or lock her up so much that while it didnât persuade them to vote for trump, it did persuade them that there was something off about hillary and not voting at all was a preferable option. And thats what decided it, voters who came out for obama just didnât bother for hillary in the few key states. CNNs obsession with trump had a big part to play in that.
Itâs gone so far out there, it must imho be happening on design. People are stupid but not that stupid. To what end? That is the conundrum. Why are they trying to split America?
Youâre approaching these shootings all wrong. The way to attack Trump and the Republicans isnât to approach it as right-wing-terrorism vs left-wing-terrorism, itâs to say that Republicans basically gave all these guys the guns themselves because they have consistently opposed all gun-control and prostituted themselves off to the gun-lobby. The Republicans have sold off the lives of their fellow citizens to the highest bidder.
It was entirely predictable that the right-wing would respond to a focus on right-wing-terrorism by saying âwhat about left-wing-terrorism?â If you couldnât see that coming then youâre just not a strategist. I am however, slightly surprised that it was led by a fairly main-stream paper like the WSJ.
There will always be Nazis, there will always be angry disturbed men. There might not always be a complete lack of gun-control. Thatâs the angle you need to go for. Did Trump increase the killerâs levels of hatred? Maybe, yes, or probably, but you canât say objectively or scientifically, whereas you can say objectively and scientifically that the Republicans opposed all restrictions on him getting the guns.
Once you get dragged into âleft-wingers are nice and right-wingers are cuntsâ then youâve lost. If you canât see that then thereâs probably no hope for you.
Most Americans support the right to bear arms but 92% still support stricter gun-control. The Republicans donât give a fuck and are auctioning off their safety. Itâs treason on a high scale. The Republicans are basically murdering their own folk for cash.
A professional Twitter troll saying âitâs about mental healthâ FFS.
Itâs a lot worse than that, the stupid brainless cunt thinks all left wingers who oppose his extremist views are also part of the problem.
@sidneyâs basic premise is that leftists are incapable of racism and terrorism. Heâs obviously never heard of the Red Brigade, Action Directe, and the Red Army Faction. Or how about closer to home, the INLA who committed some of the worst atrocities on the island of Ireland and spewed the same kind of insane rhetoric he does himself.
Birds of a feather, etc.
Where do you want to start? 9/11?
Here are the list of American mass shootings as compiled by the mother Jones investigation. Why donât you go through it yourself and see how many you can pin on white supremacists/neo-Nazis/Trump or whatever your buzzword of the day is.
Letâs look at the atrocities with the greatest number of deaths. Was Adam Lanza a white supremacist? Went onto an elementary school in his own white suburban town and killed 27 five and six years olds, almost all of whom were white? Was Syed Rizwan Farook a white supremacist who killed 14 people in San Bernadino? How about Omar Mateen who killed 49 in Orlando?
Keep going through the list and find all the white supremacists, and then try and make your incredibly dumb opinion again. The fact most of them are white says absolutely nothing about their ideology, thatâs if they have any.

More utter horseshit. The WSJ is one of the few media outlets that does unbiased reporting and most of their reporters donât see themselves as political operatives.
The rise in hateful rhetoric in the US is almost exclusively from the left wing of the Democratic party and their stooges in MSNBC and to a lesser extent CNN. Strong border security is not racism, if it is then Obama was a racist as he built most of the detention centers and deported more illegals than any other US president. By your logic Obama is responsible for the El Paso shootings.
Linking Trump to the El Paso killings is as dumb and brainless as linking Warren to the Dayton killings, and exposes you as a fruitcake. You have gone so far left you have become a fascist yourself.
There is plenty hate to go around these days, most of it coming from the left. Reza Aslan, another hero of the left, towards Ivanka Trump: âFuck you Ivanka, and your white supremacist familyâ. To a woman who is married to a Jew and has converted to Judaism so is a Jew herself.
But leftists never engage in hate speech right? or anti-Semitism.
What was the motive for El Paso?
What was the motive for Dayton? You may refer to your earlier post on the topic.
Now come back to me.
Ah right, you say Iâm a fascist but somebody who compares immigrants to snakes isnât. Gotcha.
Shows where you are on the spectrum, doesnât it.
What has been the most active terrorist threat to the US in the last decade?
Answer the question.
Why are you so afraid to answer it?
