I gave this a spin and I actually prefer Gore. Maybe this one will grow on me.
I just like the sound on the new album, same producer as their first 3 albums. They got a bit too radio friendly over the years for my taste, but it’s probably just bias towards their early stuff.
White Pony still stands a class apart. The recent albums have been decent but a little samey; I’ve liked a few songs from Gore, Koi No Yokan etc but I dunno if I could say that any of them as a whole blew my socks off. Of course I listened to White Pony a shitload as a young fella, so it’ll always hold a special place.
You are a young fella if White Pony was your Deftones mainstay. I played Adrenaline to death, and was lucky enough to see them tour Around the Fur and White Pony. They were phenomenal live.
7 Words, My Own Summer (Shove It) and Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away) top anything they’ve done since White Pony. I’d round out a Deftones Top-5 with Passenger and Change (In The House of Flies).
That’s No.6 on my list.
No.11
Na, it’s in the top 5 imo.
Go on so. I’ll move Change out to make way. Passenger stays because Maynard is in it.
Does anybody remember these guys, Headcleaner, played a bit around Ireland in the early 90s, I saw them in Sir Henry’s at least once, savage
This one is called Anal Turnip
Seen them live a few times. Tremendous fun.
For the Melvin fans on here, these guys were super special extra members of Melvins for a while. (two drummers you say, unreal). Torche fans will appreciate:
Seen BB play and also seen them as part of Melvins
Unreal. I hadn’t even heard of BB until recently, past two or three years maybe. Spotify found them for me.
God I’d love an auld gig.
Yeah, caught Melvins live maybe three times. Last one was in Galway about 15 years ago. I brought a date. We weren’t together long after
