Another US shooting

Solitary confinement for life hopefully. What a piece of shit.

Was talking to someone from Chicago last week. Said itā€™s gone to the dogs now since Covid.

Who could have guessed the perpetrator would turn out to be a Trump supporter?!

Everybody, I suppose.

But black people should have confidence in police, or something.

And yet the experts on here said the police werenā€™t at fault.

Some shooting here, young lad in shopping with the missus pulls a 9mm and from 40 yards hits and kills a mass shooter with 8/10 shots in 15 seconds.

Thank god he was carrying a handgun or many more couldā€™ve been shot

You know why the police officers are being blamed donā€™t you?

Because the NRA have decided itā€™s a clever deflection tactic away from gun control, and the media do what they are told and hop on board. Here we are a few weeks after everyone was outraged and things were going to change, and yet it is the police who are under review, not guns laws.

While the report acknowledged it was likely that most of the victims died immediately after the first shots were fired, some died while being transferred to the hospital.

ā€œIt is plausible that some victims could have survived if they had not had to wait 73 additional minutes for rescue,ā€ the report said.

Can both not be true i.e. gun laws are to blame and there was a dereliction of duties on the part of the head of police and his officers. I realise of course there is a high probability that the latter would have not occured without the former. Depending on whichever echo chamber on twitter or whatever other media people consume you will see references to both.

Iā€™m sure you are right, but the police are clearly to blame as well.

Police are trained to go home alive. First rule of policing. Go gone to your family at end of your shift. Itā€™s part of the reason they shoot people during traffic stops - they are taught to take zero risk with personal safety.

Of course their job involves an element of risk by definition and thatā€™s what they are paid to do.

Horrible, that young man had no chance because crazy or not those veterans are still highly trained killers. He suppressed and flanked him in a flash.

the poor guy had 5 chances, the 5 times he cautioned the killer to drop the weapon. should have dropped him after the first warning was ignored and unfortunately it cost him his life

Once he grabbed the rifle it was all she wrote, himself and ā€œCharleneā€ were back in the jungles.

absolutely, the training kicked in and it was da nang 67 all over again. the guy was executed for the killing even though he was clearly mad as a bag of frogs
