Just had to ask this. As all the HR department seem to do in my place is come up with stupid fucking ideas like theme days or just sticking up stupid posters about team work and other such shit, but when you actually ask them a question related to your rights in the job they dont have a clue?.
HR functions should be an important part of any organisation-the problem is that, certainly in Ireland, the vast majority of people working in them are as much use as tits on a bull and spend the majority of their time covering their own arses and avoiding having to make a decision, no matter how inconsequential.
It’s only when you need to deal with a troublesome situation do you realize how shitty and challenging their jobs are. I’ve been involved in and seen a few situations over the last few years that have made me appreciate the role they play.
When she said no she meant no mate. Happy h r bailed you out.
I don’t think h r is a total waste of time. Unless you have useless ex clonard cunts involved in it.
They are the most useless shower of cunts in any organisation. They think they run the place as well.
The place I’ve just resigned from had 5 hr managers in 2 years. Probably should have been a warning sign. Last one resigned a week before I did, the foxy minx. I was disgusted, no one to do my exit interview, a much undervalued and supremely pleasant process.
HR managers are by and large useless, unless they wear short skirts and high boots, in which case they are an important asset to any organisation.

Still not able to hold down a job. What a surprise.
Haven’t been out of work a day since I left the educational system manuel, but thanks for your concern.
Human Resources are a waste of Human Resources. I believe a good Training Department blows HR out of the ground in a good organisation. Keeping people interested and motivated is a massive help. Good training makes whoever more flexible and makes them feel more valued and educated and can often open up avenues for people. Training often comes under the HR banner, and while they obviously cross over I think they are mostly independent of each other. The staff in HR departments is ridiculous and completely unnecessary.
Couldn’t agree more. They might be only slightly outshone by PR Companies and Recruitment Agencies.
HR are great lads to make work for themselves.
I’ve come across very few of them who were actually any use.
A good pal* of mine works in HR having done a Masters in HR. He was one of 3 lads in a class of 30 or something. Is it fair to say that it’s becoming more and more female dominated? The HR function in my work is full of ladies* actually.

I think the marketing department run them pretty close, in fact sometimes I find it hard to tell the difference from the ones in the HR department from the ones in Marketing, they both seem to have “I run the fucking place attitude” as Balbec says above.
That’s the whole point Kevin. HR covers a wide range of functions including compensation and benefits, training & development, industrial relations, etc but a lot of HR people just become “generalists” i.e they do fuck all except come up with lots of pretty policy documents and loads of different reasons as to why they shouldn’t get involved in any particular work. I did a HR degree many moons ago  before taking a different path and the vast majority of my class were female who went on to specialize in marrying dickheads and going on maternity leave. The function itself is important but it seems to attract a load of wasters to it, like myself. It is absolutely driven into all HR students from day 1 that the most important thing to remember is to cover your own ass due to the sensitive nature of some of the issues they might have to deal with and the result is a load of fuckwits working in it who are afraid to do any real work in case they get themselves in trouble.
In fairness to the HR department they are good at using up Printer ink, the more colour the better it seems, laminating and sticking up useless fucking posters. In fairness though they do organise the company parties.
And without company parties you wouldn’t have nasty sex with the slutty receptionist, stuff to blackmail your boss with or unwanted pregnancies so you have to give them kudos for that.
Oh Kudos for the parties, but outside of that they are fucking useless.
