I was chatting about this with Clarkey and Jugs yesterday and we weren’t sure if it was permitted or not. Is there anything in Canon Law that specifically forbids it? I’m sure priests must be tempted to crack one out every now and again despite their celibacy vow and I personally don’t think doing so behind closed doors is breaching that vow. Anyone got any information or thoughts on this?
Fairly sure the Catholic Church see it as a major sin so I doubt they’re supposed to. Not that it’d stop them I guess.
Only onto altar boys…
As far as I’m aware it’s forbidded for all Bandage. Even you.
No need for the offensive and vile comments pal.
I’m trying to open up a mature debate here.
How did ye come onto this conversation Bandage? Pun intended naturally.
I’m sorry mate, it was very immature of me alright. I withdraw my remarks and let you get back to discussing masterbating priests.

I’ll have to ask the two lads but I’ll report back when I do. We were discussing it strolling down the road to the pub last night but I can’t recall how the topic came up.
cathechism of the catholic church affirms the following on the matter;
2352 By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. “Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action.”[sup]137[/sup] “The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose.” For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of “the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved.”[sup]138[/sup]
To form an equitable judgment about the subjects’ moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety, or other psychological or social factors that lessen or even extenuate moral culpability.
Nice one, count. So it’s forbidden but they can get away with it if they argue their case strongly that it was an acquired habit or they were stressed or immature.
I guess what they’re basically saying is, that it is illegal for any Catholic to wank, not just a Priest, or any other member of the Clergy.
Finally, a decent reason to get out of going to my grandad’s anniversary mass.
Don’t know about priests but for monks it is a very dirty habit
