Are you a football hipster

You scored 35 out of a possible 60

Close but no cigar – YOU’RE A BIT OF A HIPSTER! You love a bit of tactical talk and wear your 1991-92 St Pauli away shirt with pride, but deep down there’s part of you who prefers a cavorting mess of a 4-3 to a well-disciplined 0-0. You heathen, you. Still, you’re well on your way to zen-like hipsterdom

can someone please explain to me this whole footballl hipster man crush on St.Pauli?
from reading up on them they’re some shite second division club in Germany who were historically linked to the German equivilant of SIPTU, where’s the attraction?

Went to see Bayern Munich v St. Pauli a couple of years ago. The St. Pauli fans were very entertaining but you’re hardly likely to see a more deprived, degenerate looking bunch of weirdos

I’m definitely not a hipster but I feel as if people have a confusion that I am because I happen to be very knowledgeable and have a lot of tactical insight for the game as well as an appreciation for good football.

Posters like Rocko and Bandage are however, do you ever see the way they try and pass off a straight 4-4-2 that Celtic sometimes line out with as something much more complex? That really sickens me, Rocko put a lineup out recently as a 4-2-3-1 with Pukki playing a withdrawn role behind Stokes - that’s just retarded and it’s self-indulgence from Rocko trying to appear more knowledgeable than he is. I soon clamped with my concise and insightful remark, much like I did in relation to Balde on Sunday. Even though my interest in Celtic has waned to a casual pursuit now, I still have a far greater understanding of the game and Celtic’s on-field matters than both Bandage and Rocko.

yeah, i read ( only wiki) that they are from a rundown area of Hamburg near the docks, i must check and see are they linked with Foynes Utd.

mate, in the SPL there are no tactics, its 22 oafs running after a ball, its like watching and u-9s games in November ( @twiceasnice97 will provide more info on this)

No tactics in the SPL?? Shows how little you know about the game…I have a handy guide below.

SPL generic tactical stratagem:

  1. Kick
  2. And rush.

If you need any further extrapolation of the tactical nuances I will be happy to facilitate you.

Go into the 51 on a Friday and you’ll come very close to it.

Nope. YOU’RE NO FOOTBALL HIPSTER! You like goals, goals, goals, pronounce Milan as Milan rather than Mee-lan, and quite frankly you’re not really sure you’d recognise a false nine if one came up and shook you by the hand. You’ve got some work to do. Start of with a video of the 1991 European Cup final between Red Star Belgrade and Marseille and work from there.

thing is i was actually watching a bit of the red star game a few months ago on you tube but TBH i was more interested in their support and the layout of the terracing in Bari than the game, mind you that was the second last proper european cup final before all this champions league crap.

i really need to meet up with @Rocko and @KenEarley more* , read copies of the Blizzard and buy some retro football wear so i can look like a complete knob in the boozer at xmas.
from my experience ( and its pretty good experience) mostly football hipseters have never played the game and rarely if ever attend a live fixture

*meeting Rocko will probably suffice[/quote]
The Blizzard is extremely disappointing. It’s a poor standard of writing generally and the topics vary from the obvious and already well known, to the completely bland.

@Rudi seems to be under the impression that the most common formation in football today is exotic and complex.

I’m not.

I’m say you are trying to make a traditional 4-4-2 to be something more complex than it actually is.

But you are a boring and annoying cunt. It’s easy mix the two up.

Declan Moffat?

Can’t say I know you, pal.

that article about Beitar in issue number 3 i think was pretty lame and full of the usual cliches, tell that guy who wrote it to get back to my mail as well will ya

St Pauli is the location of Hamburgs famed red light district.

the comparisons with Foynes continue

Oaf is a great word.
