Argentina first to visit Lansdowne?

NCC can sort Maradona out with a fix!

from rte.ie

It has been reported that Argentina will be the first team to take on the Republic of Ireland in the new Lansdowne Road stadium.

The Irish Independent claim the South American side have agreed to be the stadium’s first visitors on 18 August, 2010 when the venue re-opens.

Their last visit to Dublin was a 2-0 victory ten years ago, in a game that saw the now Irish captain Robbie Keane making his debut.

FAI Chief Executive John Delaney had confirmed that a game was in the offing for the date but the opposition will not be confirmed until the New Year.

CM just wishes he could be like NCC

I remember that game 10 years ago…Ariel Ortega(the mad fucker) was superb the same night…

You’re my real hero Flano!

Diego will be doing well to be still in charge by then. Hope he is mind you, utter legend.

What about Trap?

According to the man himself he won’t be…said when he took over it was only a 2 year gig but that could well change depending on if he gets us to South Africa…Could well be Chippy Brady’s or Tardelli’s first game in charge…
