It has been reported that Argentina will be the first team to take on the Republic of Ireland in the new Lansdowne Road stadium.
The Irish Independent claim the South American side have agreed to be the stadium’s first visitors on 18 August, 2010 when the venue re-opens.
Their last visit to Dublin was a 2-0 victory ten years ago, in a game that saw the now Irish captain Robbie Keane making his debut.
FAI Chief Executive John Delaney had confirmed that a game was in the offing for the date but the opposition will not be confirmed until the New Year.
