Well done German backers, definitely the best team over course of the tournament. Very deserving winners.
He did but Iâd say he expected GĂśetze to let it drop rather than whip it on the volley. He wasnât great but it was a fabulous finish
Best team at the tournament have won it. Well done Germany, will be hard bet in 2018 as well

Boateng was immense as well tonight for me.
Match fizzled out a bit but still a good contest. Germany were the best team in the tournament by a distance. Frail at the back against Ghana and Algeria but Lahm and Hummels going back there and Boateng into the centre sorted that out. They started the tournament with Lahm, Khedira and Kramer as partners for Schweinsteiger in order of preference. Says a lot for their continuity and development that they were able to overcome playing without any of those in the centre and still look comfortable in midfield.
Schweinsteiger was immense tonight. Mascherano was terrific too but the class of Schweinsteiger and Lahm eventually shone through.
Happy for Philipp Lahm, always struck me as an alright sort.
Sorry for heroic players such as Javi Mascherano, he had a tournament and a half and reminded all what a midfielder he is. A leader.
Wonder when Kramer will find out he played on the winning team in a World Cup final.
The Lavezzi substitution hangs over this final sadly.
Having forwards such as AgĂźero, Lavezzi, Higuain and Messi, youâd have to be disappointed with their overall contribution. The hard workers behind them couldnât be faulted.
MĂźller wasnât as good as he had been tonight, but again the hard-workers stood out.
Does Muller finish as top scorer, who tops the charts when it comes down to assists?
Eamonn doesnât think Germany will go on and dominate. Not surprising because he told us two years ago that they were finished as a group of players (despite a very young average age).
Hummels getting a bit of stick for a lack of pace. Heâs not slow for a centre back. He was up against a couple of very quick players in Lavezzi and Messi. Theyâre talking about his pace like itâs a mental weakness for him.
James got 6. Muller 5.

Thomas Muller is a donkey of course.
Higuainâs miss is just shocking.
Ah bollox, I thought they were level? Fucker, 7 goals in one game and he couldnt pull out more than one of then, Iâm seething.
Messiâs wasnât much better, you expect a player of his ability to take a chance like that in the biggest game.
Palacioâs miss is just shocking
Man of the Match and Golden Ball announced yet?
Neuer I believe.
Nevermind, Golden Glove that is.
