Hard to avoid the thought that Wenger ultimately mugged off the Manchester clubs with the dross he offloaded on them. Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Clichy, Sagna and that utter phoney Nasri all went to City and he pawned Van Persie off on United. He must laugh in the evenings when he thinks about the good of it. Ashley Cole I’d imagine is the only player he lost over the years that he regrets losing.
Most of that dross have a big shiny league medal to their name, presumably in their back pocket. Wenger has hardly worked wonders with the transfer income either.

On the flip side of that is the fact that he actually bought in all that dross in the first place.
RvP was a major factor in Man Utd winning the EPL in 12/13, not a mugging off.

Also a factor in them winning fuck all since.
But not the reason, Van Persie has a pretty good goal scoring record for Utd, he was never going to be a long term punt.
Wenger is the ultimate manager for the shareholders.

Wenger has mugged everyone off, taking home one of the biggest managers salaries in the game with just 1 trophy to show in about 10 years.
