AS Roma 2011/12

We are at home to Milan on Saturday night, we must win to keep our title hopes alive. Think we can dominate the midfield but will require much more concentration at the back than we’ve witnessed in the past couple of weeks. I’d bring Kjaer back in for the error prone Heinze. The right back position is our weakest area, Rosi, Cicinho, Cassetti and the makeshift Perrotta do not inspire confidence. Nego hasn’t had much of a look-in for us yet. I believe he should be given a chance in the coming weeks.

Pizarro, De Rossi and Gago really dominated the midfield the other night, in fact they dominated us enough to win by a couple of goals, it was deficiencies in attack and defence that were our undoing. Totti is highly doubtful for Saturday and Pjanic will probably miss out too, so I’d go with Lamela, who struggled against Genoa, nestled in behind Borriello and Osvaldo.

I think we can do it, Borriello will have something to prove and will grab a brace in a 2-0 victory for us.

A reborn De Rossi, partnered by the passionate Gago will walk all over Milan in the midfield sector. Borriello has nothing but contempt for Milan, he will get us the 3 points like he did last season.

Never underestimate the danger of a wounded wolf. With Francesco out, it will be Daniele’s turn to lead his cubs and the great man is at the top of world football at this time. Fernando Gago came of age last night. The result was gut-wrenching, but the performance and attitude of the players was extremely heartening. We will win.

I’m really warming to Osvaldo, he’s very physical and roughs defenders up while possessing a nice and a decent amount of mobility.

Bojan takes far too much out of the ball, he picks up nice positions and is a good dribbler but he needs to do something with the ball earlier.
