AS Roma 2012/2013

BOMBER!!!1

Lovely embrace between Destro and the benched Pablo after the goal.

Daje de Destro!

Destro booked for a great tackle. FFS.

This referee is an utter fucking cunt.

Destro has been brilliant today, the pitch has made it really hard to play today, the ball simply can’t be played on the deck and the surface is so slow and bobbly. We’ve had to revert to making clipped balls over the top and keeping the ball off the deck which isn’t our natural game.

Pablo would be perfect to bring on now, we are getting loads of crosses in the box and he’s lethal in the air. Come on Mr. Zeman - let him redeem himself.

Inches from Pjanic after a beautiful move.

It takes the 78th minute for the referee to book his first Siena player - a disgraceful performance from him.

Perrotta for Tachtsidis.

Pjanic - you dithering fuck!

Less that ten minutes left we have pinned them in for the the past twenty minutes or so and have really turned the screw, it would be justice if we got a late winner here, the conditions, the referee and the fortune have all been against us today.

Justice.

Simone!!!

I’m shedding tears of joy!!!

BOMBER!!!

What a fucking result, what a performance.

I haven’t felt this much joy since Mirko slayed the eagles in the derby!

I’m ecstatic.

Destro is a superstar in the making, he’s the complete striker, strong, powerful and deadly. The young man was outstanding today and showed real leadership and character, worked his socks off and the more things went against him the more he tried to make something happen, he got his rewards. Totti showed all his experience today and really came to the fore when we needed him most. Perrotta was also excellent when he came on and took his goal really well - I’d forgotten how much I loved Simone - class celebration.

Roma, Ti Amo!!!

Zdenek Zeman praised Roma’s fightback in Siena and saw it as a sign of their fitness levels improving too.

“Today the team played well. We were a little slow in the first half, but after the break we tried with all our strength to win and achieved it,” he said of the 3-1 victory, their third win on the bounce.

“We were probably in better shape physically than our opponents. It was a better performance compared to the win at Pescara, but we still need to find concentration and consistency.”

With Daniele De Rossi suspended and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo injured, Zeman surprisingly placed Miralem Pjanic on the right side of a trident attack.

“Pjanic did well, as he wasn’t accustomed to playing in the penalty area, but he adapted very well.

“I was also satisfied with the work from Panagiotis Tachtsidis. Francesco Totti put in a great performance, but I am certainly not the first to discover he has remarkable quality.

“The midfielders pushed forward well and in the second half we made the most of the wings.”

Fiorentina drew at home to Sampdoria tonight, Savic with a couple of great headers. We host them next Saturday in a massive game and are getting them at a good time with Jovetic, Ljajic and Toni all out injured at the minute - hopefully they will remain that way until next weekend anyway. De Rossi will be available again and so should Stekelenburg. I’ve actually been reasonably impressed with Goicochea despite him making a few errors along the way, he is a keeper who is suited to Zeman tactics, he is extremely quick off his line and reads the game well in that respect, he also has really good and quick distribution. I doubt Lamela will be ready to return, I’d start with the same team for next week, hopefully Destro can keep the goals coming.

Simone Perrotta has made some statements to Sky Sport 24:

The goal against Siena: "The goal has been many things, that game port in the memories that I will accompany me all my life, I have to divide into two parts. The first is the embrace by the whole team and the party, the second is the affection received the next day from the fans, are two beautiful feelings that I will carry all my life and they are worth more than any trophy won. De Rossi has been linked with a January exit again today after Zeman’s comments about him yesterday. Ancelotti has denied any interest with him so the media are reporting Man City as the front runners. I’d definitely sell for the right price, he’s not suited to Zeman’s style of football and he’s only really had one very good season for Roma in the last four or five campaigns, he will soon be 30 and he’s not delivering the performances you’d expect of the highest paid Italian player. We could use the money to get in a proper regista and also get a right back and possibly a centre back.

Preferably I’d like PSG to come in for him as we might be able to incorporate Verratti or Pastore into the deal.

Lamela, Stekelenburg, De Rossi and Osvaldo are all available for tomorrow. I would go with the same XI as started against Siena.
