great to see you back as a romanista mate
They are hoping Balzaretti will complete his medical and sign a contract today. Rosi has apparently rejected a move to Parma and Roma now plan on freezing him out, he seems to be what is holding the deals up for Piris and Torosidis. Jose Angel is also meant to be close to signing for Benfica. We are being linked with Rhodolfo as the man to sort the defence out.
I think I’m going to get ahead of the posse and order my CHAMPIONS 13 jersey in the next week.
James Horncastle reckons we’ll win Serie A this season. Gazzetta also have an article this morning saying Roma have the tools to win the title. I think we still need 2 or 3 more signings but these defensive ones would be most excellent.
Balzaretti and Piris confirmed.
Heinze, Rosi and Angel have all been left out of our retreat to Austria which pretty much means Zeman has made it clear they don’t feature in our plans.
Crescenzi has completed a loan move to Pescara while Jose Angel has joined Real Sociedad on loan.
I see we won 13-0 in a friendly against some Austrian side last night.
Destro and Balzaretti also got their first goals. That’s now 7 wins in 7 for Mr. Zeman.
We have cancelleed the contract of Aleandro Rosi by mutual consent.
Reports this afternoon suggest that Roma and Milan are interested in swapping Marco Borriello and Antonio Cassano.
The Corriere dello Sport are reporting that the two clubs are considering the option. Former Milan man Borriello has returned to the Giallorossi this summer after a six-month loan spell with Juventus and is known to be on the lookout for a new club.

Meanwhile, Cassano has also been linked with a departure out of Milanello, with former club Sampdoria more than once taking questions on links with the No 99.

Sporting director Walter Sabatini admitted to the media today that he has also been offered Cassano, but moved to suggest it may not have been an entirely official action.

“I received a phone call about Cassano yes,” reflected Sabatini today.
“But I would not call it an offer from Milan. A small draft in the market, yes, probably from a third party. Our priority is a central defender.”
Please let this be true!
Pizarro has joined Fiorentina.
Heinze looks set to be signing for Newell’s Old Boys. Cutting nicely through the deadwood now - just Guberti, Borriello, Julio Sergio and Perrotta left.
Now that Zlatan has left AC Milan I am contemplating jumping on the AS Roma bandwagon :strokechin:
Welcome.
Welcome to the family Puke.
We won 6-0 against SC Liezen yesterday, taking Mr Zeman to 8 wins in 8 pre-season games.

Destro’s second goal is a real beauty, lovely dinked ball from Tachtsidis and a mid-air Di Canio style volleyed finish from Destro. The fifith goal, which came from Nico Lopez is also a cracker.
Was just about to post those goals. Destro continues to look very impressive.
Zdenek Zeman reveals his ‘mad’ plans for Roma, but also takes a sideswipe at Antonio Conte and Juventus. “A banned Coach shouldn’t be able to train his team.”
Conte is sitting out a 10-month ban, so was replaced on the touchline in the Italian Super Cup by assistant Massimo Carrera.
However, the suspension applies only to the bench and locker room on match day, so he can continue training the squad on a day-to-day basis.
“A suspended player can train, but I think a Coach with a long ban shouldn’t be able to train his team,” commented Zeman in today’s Press conference.
“I haven’t read the full verdicts of the betting trial, but if people want to weaken this phenomenon then they have to be more decisive.”
Roma continued their pre-season training camp in Austria with a 6-0 win over SC Liezen, in which Mattia Destro scored a hat-trick.
“Am I satisfied with the decision to sell Fabio Borini and bring in Destro? Yes, we made this choice based on technique and I think Destro is a more technical player than Borini.
“I already have a basic idea of my starting XI. I have a squad that covers every role with two players, then it depends on their fitness levels and my level of madness on which ones I use.
Apparently we are moving for Torosidis as Dodo will be out of action until November. He will be a good signing if it is completed. I just hope we bring in one quality centre back and we can have a good tilt at the title. Forza Roma!
Looks like Marquinhos will be joining us in a €5m deal. He’s an 18 year old Brazilian centre back. I’m confident we will be buying a more senior centre back as well.
