I am not allowed to start a thread over there for some reason
Anyway - I’ll put it here.
We have five games left all at 6 apart from next week’s which is at 7
We play following:
Sophis
Real Estate
AIB
Ringsend Utd
Merrill Lynch Bulls
All are above us in the league except Real Estate. Sophis and Merrill Lynch are marginally above us AIB are a point off top (second to La Manga who we beat) and Ringsend are 4th.
Need a strong finish to set us up for the summer. Clarkey has already announced his attention to move abroad after TFK refused to extend the injury prone striker’s contract. Any proposed purchases?
Oh yeah - Ringsend are the team that hammered the ball over the fence at the end when they had only four players to waste time so we owe them
Not sure why you can’t start a thread over there - I’ll sort it out.
Anyway I should be around for most of those matches. Definitely playing on Monday. There simply wasn’t a case for renewing Clarkey’s contract with all the injuries he was picking up. We’re certainly on the lookout for new players but this season’s performance didn’t really boost the bank balance enough to get top drawer players.
Are we actively looking for players for the new season? A number of people have asked me for trials. We should perhaps look into the possibilty of fielding a reserve team or agreeing a deal with a feeder club.
We’ll have lost Clarkeycat and to be honest at this point I can’t see us renewing Juhniallio’s contract either. He played well when selected but the pace of Irish football seems a bit much for him at the moment. I think another spell in Asian football could be beneficial to all concerned. So while I don’t want to sell the lad (we’re raking in the cash from merchandising Juhniallio stuff) he’s unlikely to be on the playing panel next season.
So there’s probably an opening ot two but potential players would really have to post on here and subject themselves to an informal interview from current players and management.
