Probably not in the sense we think about. The idea that space is some kind of a container has gone out the window anyway, along with time as something that moves. Read “Reality Is Not What It Seems” by Carlo Rovelli, probably the best contemporary writer on quantum gravity.
Basically what we see and perceive is a blurred image of a small portion of reality, a bit like what the captain of the Titanic saw before they hit the iceberg.

Exactly. The human brain is a measuring device that has evolved to help us survive in our environment. The fact that we are aware of ourselves (well, some of us) at all is most likely a by product of evolution, a spandrel.
