She is such a talent. It’s wonderful to see her progress like this. She really could be our biggest sports star within two years.
Was thinking of popping down for a day
I hope she’s clean. You can never really be sure which of the top athletes are on performance enhancing substances.
This is the first winter she’s properly trained for 400m so you’d expect some improvement. 400 should be her natural distance but most of her training was for 100 or 200 and she was smashing records in those too. I don’t think the NCAA’s are drug tested though so there’s always some suspicion about fast times run in it
If she’s at the Oregon project I’d presume guilt. Otherwise I’d presume innocence.
Nah she’s in Texas somewhere
Well then. I think she’s just supremely talented.
That’s what we all hope
It’s all God given talent and excellent coaching based on the progression over last couple of years. She’s going to be a leading 400m runner without doubt.
That’s what we all hope.
Less of the god now. We’re passed that
Paddy would never cheat
It’s OK to be racist in this scenario. Rashida is black, tall, young, sleek, lithe, and languid, ie. she looks every inch an actual proper elite athlete, unlike our usual white, ginger, small, squat, and slow also-rans. And she has a natural looking progression curve relative to her talent and age, unlike some of our previous female Olympic sport hopefuls. Therefore she deserves the benefit of any doubt.
When she ran in the national 100m final in Santry last year I’d say she was at least half a foot taller than the next nearest. I don’t think your post is racist by the way
You’re clearly not Irish
The white Irish don’t have the genes.
Rashida against her nearest Irish competitors is like peak Naomi Campbell being followed down the catwalk by a lassie who sang the anthem at a Longford county semi-final and was once voted best looking girl at mass.
Ah she looks like a star and will be one.
In college at UT in Austin Texas.
Does a great interview, has charisma and seems to enjoy the sport.
A clatter of Irish lads all ran PB’s in Boston last night too. We’ve the best pipeline of talent that we’ve had in years, many of it ironically brought together through Covid before they spread their wings.
The European indoors are at the start of March in Istanbul. If some of them travel then we have proper medal prospects.
Livestream of nationals here. Women’s 400m heat just over. Forum favourite Sharlene ran a 200m PB this morning to move to 6th on the all time list and seems to be dodging the 400m.
Sharlene wins the 200m final in another PB of 23.51. @Locke and @caulifloweredneanderthal will be happy as they stalk her Insta later this evening
