@Bandage he’s calling you out
I’m falling behind here.
Ciara Mageean through to final finishing 3rd in 4.02.
Sarah Healy runs 3.59 in a bonkers semi and doesn’t make the final. Massive PB and National U23 record.
Andrew Coscoran runs his heart out but doesn’t make the final. Savage season for him after setting a new Irish record.
Kate doesn’t break the NR in the Heptathlon but has seasons bests in about 4 of the events.
Lyles wins the 100m in 9.83
Fcuk me that’s quick
You’d miss the Irish analysis for a bit of local perspective and straight talking about the big shots. Sonia is building nicely into the Jerry Kiernan grump when she feels the need
Actually thought Lyles might have gone quicker. He’s talking a lot about breaking the 200 world record.
You need to decide which side of the looking glass you’re sitting on
I was meeely observing how relaxed she was. No fucks given.
Nothing until this evening
If you were an athlete in any sort of race, would you not have your hair tied back as much as possible in order to go as fast as you can??
She had it tied up when she went into the blocks but it was down by the time she hit 100m. Presume she will for the other races
@TreatyStones by my reckoning the only Irish in action today are Sharlene and Rhasidat in the 400m semi finals between 8 and 8.30pm
When is the final of the 400m womens?
Wednesday evening.
Rhasidat in the first heat this evening in lane 5. Sharlene in the 2nd heat in lane 1.
First 2 in each heat qualify and 2 fastest runners up. No margin for error at all really. 3 semi finals.
Nope. 5000m heats are Thursday evening I think
Same principle sure. To be in the top 32 or whatever. Same applies.
We have no footballer in the top 100 in the World even
Sarah Healy comes home having become only the 3rd Irish woman to run a sub 4 minute 1500m and finished about 14th overall. She’s 22.
Kate O’Connor finished 13th overall setting Seasons bests or Personal Bests in about 5 of her events. She’s 21 I think.
Both will probably be viewed as failures by the wider population as they didn’t win medals. The bar international athletes are held to is ridiculously high.
