Not sure about what Sonia was running as a 21 year old but her 3000m Irish record is 8.21 and Sophie ran 8.44 today. Still a fair chunk of time in the difference
Sonia ran 8:52:65 at 21 for 3000m.

We’d have some shot at a 1500m relay at the moment if such a thing existed. Hopefully Sarah and Sophie keep improving to challenge Ciara and the 3 drive each other on with a bit of competition over the next 2-3 years.

Iirc there’s on average a couple of deaths every year at the great North run
60,000 runners there this year. 3 times the size of the Dublin Marathon. By the law of averages you’d nearly expect at least 1 death per year.
