I’m waiting for him

Mile to go, won’t have long to wait.

He’s a machine. Thanks for updates

He’s something else in the flesh

Mick Clohissey looked in pain when he passed me. Still a great showing. Gary O’Hanlon went great. Seanie Hehir well up too

What times did the Irish lads run?

Diver’s time probably the best performance from an Irish athlete of any kind for years. Pity we ignored her and let the Aussies have her.

she’s not Irish anymore

Clohissey 2:15:06
O’Hanlon 2:17:32

Just googled Olympic qualifying time. 2.11.30.
I’d say John Treacy could have been last Irishman to run that fast.
Edit - I’m Wrong. Mark Carroll and two lads I’ve never heard of, Andy Ronan and John Woods, ran such times. Treacy has the record 2.09.15 from Boston late in his career.

Scullion might do it but it’s unlikely, joke of a QT really.

It’s set very tough but you can qualify by rankings too. Fionnuala McCormack likely to get in despite missing 2.29 qualifying time in Boston.

BBC give him a free pass the whole time. Doesn’t help that Radcliffe is part of their team. They built the whole marathon up to be a 2 horse race between Kipchoge and Farah even though he’d only the 8th best PB going into it.

Eliud Kipchoge, one of the good guys.

Kipchoge

He’s only a few years off having his work ethic questioned by Jerry Kiernan now
