Kid, the biggest dog lovers in the world live in apartments ---- get the breed right and all the dog needs is a bit of exercise and play time. We’ve no back garden … your man gets 2 x 10 mins and 1 x 30 mins a day and he’s happy out. They’re lazy fuckers half the time anyway and just want to be near you. A little puppy might ease her fears… but it is a big decision - You’ll be the one heading out at 9 at night in Jan or Feb in the pissing cold rain - I personally dot mind that.
I wouldnt mind at all. I’ve been around dogs since I was born.
I do be travelling for work as well. The timing isn’t right
We’re lucky that mrs (pre-covid) works from home - so there’s always someone here … You could always fire him to a kennel for a night … but it’s a big responsibility alright.
I don’t despise dogs.
I just don’t care for animals.
That’s a must, dogs need companionship, can’t be left alone for more than 2/3 hours
Dexter took a while to house train. But he got there in the end. He’s half pug and they’re not supposed to be the brightest. The other issue is that that I got him just before the lockdown so it’s been hard to socialize him with humans and as a result he is very nervous around people. Not in a bad way just nervous. On the other hand he is very friendly with Bobby and me and he is a great companion for Bobby.
He sounds like most TFKers.
Adopt if you can, from a shelter etc. Please don’t buy a dog. There are loads of abandoned dogs out there looking for homes.
All the dogs I have had have been abandoned and they all made super pets.
The last three dogs I’ve had were from shooting men. Fanatical about dogs, no expense spared and not in it for the money.
All
Don’t normally make great house dogs ( Springer’s etc) though setters can
Except the one you gave back obviously?
I’ve given two back. I got one just after the second knee op who had a bladder problem and she pissed all over the place including quite a bit over me. Given my condition at the time and I think anyway I couldn’t hack that, so I gave her back. The second one was a mistake on the part of the dogs trust. You shouldn’t give out siblings particularly when there is another dog as the siblings freeze out the other dog and often the humans and they focus totally on each other so I learned shortly after picking up the two of them. So one of them had to go back, the one that Bobby got on less well with. She was a beautiful little dog and had no problem being rehomed.
Coming across this a few months late. That’s terrible she looked a lovely little dog. Did you get a new one since? It’s probably the best thing to do in a way although I find you need a break between dogs as a sort of ‘mark of respect’ to the one who died. I can empathise with it as my own dog was attacked by a bigger dog lately as well but luckily I was there and broke it up before much damage done. You’d be bulling about it but worse for you as you weren’t present so couldn’t save her. I might report your man whose dog attacked mine because I have found out recently it wasn’t the first incident, despite he flogged me lies that it was out of character for his dog, so I wouldn’t like it happening again to someone else’s.
Look at this little shit. A few weeks ago she was afraid of her own shadow. Now shes waltzing around the place like the queen of sheba
Bobby has an Angry Birds toy just like that. He gives it a dag a couple of times a day.
Aw mike. He’s destroyed your sofa and cushions
