Ating a dog

Yes they have. I think we have it about 5 years at this stage Har. Agree with you there. We’ll probably change next year and I’ll urge her to go either back to a normal 3 piece or at least a corner unit without recliners.

Is that your piles cushion?

Perk of the bag. No piles. Therefore no cushion required.

‘Stick injury’. Very common apparently…dog charges about with stick and somehow gets a mouth injury. Our mutt managed to stab herself under her tongue- a 4cm hole apparently.
X ray, antibiotic, painkiller, sedative, drip, overnight stay. 400 quid exactly.

Guide dog confirmed with a ruptured hind leg cruciate ligament. Vet says it’s a common enough injury in a lab. Anyone any experience of a dog cruciate?

Bedlam here this morning. 7.30 and the place was going wild with dogs barking. The dog from the house three doors up got through two gardens to the garden beside me and made for the neighbours rabbit hutch. He made clean shit of it but in doing so the roof of the hutch collapsed on top of the rabbit giving the neighbour just enough time to get up hunt the dog and save the rabbit as his horrified young children watched on through the window.

How did this work out dan?

Operated on in Cork 10 days ago. It’s a 12 week minimum recovery period for him. Took the buster collar off him this morning so that’s cheered him up a good bit.

How much was this to fix?

Think my lab has similar, limps when getting up, my holistic vet.is using laser on him

I have pet insurance so I’m only hit for the excess of €100. I don’t get the full bill until he has 6 week check up out of the way. I’ll let you know then.

Labs are very susceptible to cruciate problems.

My sister is mad to get a dog and is ready to go. Apparently puppies can’t be got for love nor money at the moment. She’d love a cocker spaniel. Apparently they’re going for 2500 on dogs.ie at the moment. Is that not absolutely crazy? It used to be someone you know would have a litter and you’d get a pup that way for a smallish few hundred. Does this happen any more? In rural areas maybe. Seems to be a massive money making racket. Anyone with any connections to pups?

Hit me up, pls

stay away from websites. if you are looking for a particular breed ring notable breeders - you could end up financing puppy farms otherwise.

If you are looking for an auld mongrel go to one of the rescue places and pick out a dog when restrictions allow. I wouldn’t take a rescue without seeing it a few times as they can be very badly damaged
