Ating a dog

It looks like we’re possibly getting a dog. We are looking for something of a non shedding type like a Maltichon apparently. The shedding thing is VERY important because we took my sisters dog for a week (beautiful retriever) and juhy junior’s asthma kicked up big style. Anyway, how do i get my hands on one? None to be seen on ispca or dogs trust sites. A couple of sites selling them for 500e or so but ive heard regularly that you shouldnt buy dogs off sites like that. Is that bollox? All advice welcome.

You’ll hardly get a dog from Dogs Trust if you have young kids?

Really? Ok. They’re 8 and 11. So where should i be getting one?

FFS

They should be ok with kids that age ok. They grow up so fast these days.

You’ll have to take your chances and buy one that’s advertised unless you know somebody to vouch for a breeder.
My lab is shedding like never before for the past month or more and it’s a nightmare

I think Bobby might be a Maltichon!

got our cockapoo from there, once it is a respectable breeder and not a puppy farmer you’re in the clear

I wouldn’t have had @Fagan_ODowd and @count_of_monte_crist down as the maltichon and cockapoo types, respectively.

not about the size of the dog it’s about the fight in the dog

or the fight in the lady that wants a dog

So many abandoned dogs now, is there any need to even go to a breeder now. Just adopt, and don’t be worrying about some show dog.

it’s harder to adopt that you would think.

We were told we would never get a dog via adoption and our dog has a lifestyle certain Royals would be jealous of

Bobby was all that was available when I went looking on dogs trust at the time. Had a massive dog previously and wanted a small one now.

Most charities won’t even look at you unless you’ve a secure garden. Fostered a dog for smaller outfit before and they said they were a bit more pragmatic about it and had lots of dogs suitable for smaller houses or apartments, greyhounds especially. They told me if I was applying to adopt a dog from a charity to just lie and say I had a secure enclosed garden.

They come out and inspect your house and garden and interview you.

My first rescue walked in the lane with a chewed up rope around her neck and came over to me looking for water. Hated being inside cars and old men. Had a beautiful temperament otherwise other than maybe being slightly clingy. I’d say she would have been put down if the warden came on her first.

True, I forgot about that, they don’t make it easy at all.

Would she jump in the car now, or still shook?

It never left her, no
