What a load of shite … weak link/strong link sports … Football has plenty of instances of ‘strong link’
Bit ridiculous to compare to MLB, NHL or the NBA but impressive nonetheless.
The new stadium for Atlanta is outrageous.
It’s got a Chick-Fil-A that’s closed on Sundays.
Yeah hilarious. Must be a savage enough margin for them on other days that they can ignore NFL Sundays. Or could be just not wanting a competitor to get in due to their vanity of being an Atlanta institution.
They’d probably have more stuff on the other 6 days than just the NFL Sunday game. 8 home games, potential of a Thursday or Monday night game, they might only have 6 or 7 Sundays in the year for the NFL games. With the college games and other events there, I’m sure it made sense for them to have it there. Plus as you say, keep their competitors out.

Fucking Americans
That’s only when they are watching weak link sports — completely different when they are watching strong link sports.
What’s that, mate?
Just the opening to that shit article the OP posted… Traditional American sports led by a Brady or a Jordan are strong link… Whereas football is weak link - you’re only as good as your weak player… Maradona ? Messi? Ronaldo? Steven Gerrard? Gary Breen?
Sounds like bollix, mate.
Yes and no… you can see where they are coming from with American sports but perhaps there’s a lack of understanding of how football works.
I don’t think there’s many college games there. One bowl a year. Georgia will still play on campus. Plenty of events with the soccer taking off, but NFL Sundays would still be the key days.
Ah right. I was nearly sure they had chick-fil-a games, championship games and the new playoff games as well as opening kick off games too. Not sure why, but had thought there was as much college games as NFL for some reason. Maybe I’m confusing it with some other stadium in the region.
Ah I’m sure there’ll be games there like A T&T with their annual opening game. SEC Championship on rotation. They’ll be in the next CFB playoff rotation. I probably did underrate it but we’re talking 2/3 a year.
Interesting article about how Atlanta United have captured the imagination of a city at the same time as baseball’s Atlanta Braves have fled to the more white, richer, Republican voting hinterland of Cobb County
