We’ve stayed there a number of times and it is nice - boutiquey and contemporary but it is a B and B , the rooms are snug enough and there is no lobby or bar area so might feel claustrophobic.
The Cliff House is gorgeous- I love it- not for those with vertigo/ fear of heights though
Cork is two hours tops from liffey valley at a good clip. PM Kinvaras Passion and lock the thread.
yeah easy enough to do but I was thinking of say
a night in cliff house and dinner in Michelin star restaurant
night in monart or brooklodge with spa stuff
night in Dublin - marker or Dylan or Westin and do a night on the tiles
match in Croke Park if I time it
all for under 800 euro whereas taxi to airport, flights, taxi other side to any city half decent is 500 euro or thereabouts for two - just travelling somewhere
I travel fairly regularly with work and get to socialise while away usually and I find most European cities a bit rubbish (Paris, London are exceptions)
Dublin to Berlin - €130 return with Ryanair
Train to city centre - €8 return
Decent hotel - €250 for 2 nights
Total - €526
Alternative spot in Dungarvan with great food and not pricy is Eunice Power’s guest house. Nicest breakfasts I’ve ever had and the option of the Tannery in the evening. Lovely spot for a short break with Cloneaa, Lismore and Ardmore nearby

Berlin people a bit odd I found but your overall point well made. Brook lodge so so.
Berlin is full of fudge packers and carpet munchers
Sounds like an ideal spot for a romantic weekend away so.
If you are from Cork
You must have really done wrong by her that night you went off the rails recently Locke.
Whites Hotel in Wexford town Locke’s. Or else the Riverside Hotel in Enniscorthy once you don’t go near the rest of the town during the day.

Prices look optimistic but I accept you can go foreign for cheap. I suppose my point is why bother subjecting yourself to a Ryanair flight etc when you can lord it up at home
Somebody’s fucking house!
The George in limerick is a nice hotel if on a budget, always have good deals on there as well. You could call up to @Mark Renton in the market in the morning, then on bunratty or Adare “spits” in the afternoon before Donkey Fords for fuel for some passionate love making.
Not far from Lahinch or Killaloe for a bit of water or a walk. Or from cork for your return trip

Rooms are pretty shit in The George though.
The quality of the room is important. Not much wandering out of it planned
A no go so, kid.
Tinakilly house in Wicklow. A Victorian mansion by the sea.
I’m used to travelling so Ryanair flight wouldn’t brother me but herself would be in a tizzy about it. I do agree with the handiness and familiarity of a weekend at home and am leaning towards that at this stage of my life.
If it is the room you want get a decent one in the Lyrath in Kilkenny - go home
