A repeat of last Saturday. All finals.
How many of Rintintin*, MAD and Runt will be there on Saturday night? I might go into that kip for the last two or three races.
*Is Rintintin the guy who heroicly fell on his arse coming down from the bar in Mulcahy’s with four pints of Guinness in his hands yet managed to only spill the head off one of the pints?
Did you boys see this? Anthony Daly, celebrity coursing fan.

I would imagine all 3 of the above mentioned legends of the leash shall be in attendance on Saturday night.
That could possbily have been a different member of the group.
What do you think of her chances, HangBlaa?
In all seriousness, i wasn’t messing when i said i know a fella that owns a bitch for the Oaks that he reckons will win it. He is a member of the syndicate that owns New Inn All In and told me months ago (before she won her trial stake in Lixnaw i think it was) she has a right chance. Unfortunately, her price has since retracted to a pitiful figure but there’s nothing i can do about that. .
This bitch has been dealt with on the blog…

Re: merging this into Greyhound Matters, i think we should talk about coursing matters here and track matters in the Greyhound Matters thread, as most of the Clonmel talk has been in here so far and we may as well keep it that way. But that’s just my opinion…
All this years coursing talk has been on teh Greyhound thread, I tipped up Newinn All In there before her TS…
Merge these dunph. (or get Rocko on teh case)

Yep, we should all be there. Hopefully there should be a decent crowd at the venue for the night.
I remember the incident with the pints being miraculously saved alright now that you mention it but I can’t remember who was responsible, maybe rtt can.

Signing in for Wednesday
Deputy Maureen O’Sullivan’s Private Member’s Bill to abolish hare coursing has been chosen to be taken in the Dail this Thursday, June 23. Deputy O’Sullivan will hold a press conference regarding the bill on Tuesday, June 21, at the Mont Clare Hotel, Merrion Street Lwr, at 12 Midday.
Among those supporting the bill at the press conference will be Senator Frances Black, actors Pauline McLynn (Mrs. Doyle, Fr. Ted), Rachel Pilkington (Fair City, The Clinic) and Linda Martin
A vote on the Bill is expected to take place on the following Thursday, June 30th.
That’s some list of cunts.
Townie cunts
Lowry will find a way to quash this I’d say
I’m guessing that the coursing set are the rural equivalent of the hipsters,
what’s the story, the dog chases a hare around a field, how does one dog prove himself the superior of the other dog in this battle?
Is there any road bowling thread?
Get out of here.
Seriously mate, does the dog have to do something or is it pure speed? I’d rather spend an afternoon digging out weeds but I believe its quite a popular pastime among the hardcore rural sorts.
Would they be the same dogs that run on the tracks or is there a particular type of training, these are genuine questions, no harm in a bit of education.
I am not an expert but it is about how you make the bunny rabbit turn. @Smark or @TreatyStones will enlighten you.
Back on the topic of road bowling, I’ve seen it played on the road between Ardpatrick and Kildorrery.
I’ve never been to a score to be honest (I’ve been caught out by them a couple of times in the car) but I went to school with a lad who’s da was a one time Irish champion and he was a decent player himself, he had some serious loft off a stone, very interesting game. Whenever I pass the viaduct on the way to West Cork I think about your man Mick Barry and the ball he lobbed over it, unbelievable.
Hare is released ahead of two dogs, generally runs in a straight line up the field, first dog to reach the hare and make it turn, or who is leading at a certain point (if the hare gets a clean run up) wins. I’d say 19 times out of 20 the hare doesnt get touched. They are rarely killed.
Coursing is actually very good for the hare population.
I’ve heard that said alright.
So are the dogs different from the ones who run on the track, is it possible for some dog to do a double of the St Leger and the big one in Clonmel?
