A dumbass on Facebook just posted the “second visa, living the dream” status. Having looked at his page one of his previous status updates was “18 hour working day down, sunburnt and in pain”. Sounds good, hope I get to live the dream some day. …hey fuck head gettin a second yr visa is like winning d lotto to most lads that go to oz,it means they get another yr here instead of havin to go home to missery!!so they did an 18hr shift what about it weren’t they gettin well paid for it! U some day want to live d dream,haha by d sounds of it all ur gud for is belittling others!

Magners, its the use of the phrase ‘living the dream’ that is getting on people’s goat.
It is a ridiculous phrase and shows how terribly mundane these peoples dreams are.
If I were living the dream, I’d have captained the Lockes to a senior club all-ireland, Kilkenny to at least three all-irelands, ireland to a world cup and european championship, be a billionaire, own a tropical island with its own mary j field and have a harem of around 14 supermodels and/or pornstars at my beck and call.
