What’s wrong with being friends with a gay person Kev?
Kev coming out of this badly
Thought there was a touch of the Brian Kennedy’s about this story alright
Saw these quotes via a social networking website from a female acquaintance of mine whose boyfriend applied for a job in Western Australia:
‘We feel that Irish Engineers lack the understanding of Surveying principals as against the Survey trained Australian Engineers’
'We also note that the Irish Engineers do not remain loyal to their employers and tend to ‘ move around a lot.
‘We will never hire another Irish person again’
‘I dare say other companies will follow suit’.
Can’t say fairer than that
This is probably some Aussie lad who completely fucked up and is looking for a scapegoat. Aussies struggle badly with accepting their own mistakes.
And if irish people move it’s generally fir better money as they have not been paid as well as their Aussie counterparts in the first place.
Last night I heard a comment about irish people being " a dime a dozen".
I done a bit of work this week for a kiwi lad here 25 years who is married to an Aussie and has 2 kids born here, he told me " don’t deal with those aussies mate, they are absolute wankers" . You can actually achieve this if you want, I know irish guys who have virtually no dealings with aussiEs at all except for going to the shops. Not that I think that’s good or healthy, nut never the less they seem happy out.
To be fair I have also met and heard of very good Aussie employers and if guys who only want to hire irish trades in particular due to their superior speed and allrounder Skills. Aussie tradesmen can be very narrow in their skills.
Nothing against gays, I just prefer straight people when making new friends.
Ah jaysus…
The Internet wouldn’t be the same without Kev’s entertaining xenophobia
Anecdotal evidence from my social scene in Sydney is that Irish employers over here are the worst offenders. Some utter cunts screwing their own people in construction here. The lads working in civil in Sydney put in serious hours
On the sponsored visa employers can take the piss a bit. Having a couple of issues myself lately so need to get the residency sorted after the euros.
Irish employers can indeed be cunt’s also but it’s more on a level of being cu ts to everyone and are not choosy about who they are counts to. Where as alot of the issues with Aussies are xenophobic and often racist in nature.
Sponsorship means f-all here at least, many guys I know are state sponsored or have left their original sponsor anyway. Being sponsored by an aussie can be quite the nightmare from what I’ve heard. They want you to be indebted to them.
Kib from what I’ve heard from a good friend in Sydney, getting residency thru accountancy or the financial area is being fast tracked at the moment, get on it if that’s what you want.
Must be remembered also WA and QLD & NSW are very different places and it should be remembered when discussing these matters and you generally find alot different type of irish person as well.
You’re as bad as that other bigot mbb. Two peas in a pod of hate. Shame on you…
People are people mate. Being a cunt isn’t national specific. I’m not in the finance game. I’m kind of wondering how that creep Tony Abbott will shake up the immigration laws. Not sure how long Julie G’s govt has left in it. Think it’s best to get the residency moving soon.
I get a good bit of LAFHA in my salary so there are some benefits to being on a 457 but I could go back contracting properly if I was a resident and find ways of paying fuck all tax.
shame on you- you arent the type we want over here

That’s exactly my point on guys being cunt’s why do you find it so hard to understand simple things sometimes, it’s like you have your response ready before you read what anyone else has said and often miss what they are saying. Aussies are often just cunt’s to non Aussies and not their own, that’s exactly what xenophobic is in my book.
The Aussies have a massively inflated opinion of themselves, bit the reality is their “standards” that they blow on about so much are actually very average standards. I chuckle every time I hear one of them go on about them.
The thing is, much to our shame and my embarrassment, many irish treated the polish in the exact same way for 10 years.
Apologies Kevin I find it difficult to ‘get’ your arguments as they are generally bizarre and contradictory in nature. You do realise the irony in you slating ‘Aussies’ as xenophobic?
Only recently when you were on one of your xenophobic rants about Aussies, I pointed to the
treatment of Polish people in Ireland as an example that treating immigrants poorly isn’t simply an Aussie thing. You disagreed vehemently if I recall, can’t be arsed digging the post up but I’m sure its in this thread if someone else wants to.
Tony Abbott’s superior ability always shines through in interviews

Something about foreign tradesmen undercutting their Irish counterparts and doing inferior work i think it was
Dubliner bans ‘drunken’ Irish from Australian hostel…
An expat who operates a hostel in Queensland, Australia has hit out at backpackers from his homeland for giving the Irish a bad reputation. And he has banned them from staying at his Main Street Backpackers pub. Thomas Dunne who has been living in Australia for 25 years told the Irish Daily Star that badly behaved Irish backpackers have vandalised his premises, forcing him to call the police and have them arrested. And this was not the first time the father of three has dealt with his troublesome natives as he revealed that past guests have also caused mayhem at his hostel. “The Irish are the only ones to have caused deliberate damage. "This year we have had Irish backpackers. It’s only the start of the season and already some have been thrown out…we can’t tar everyone with the same brush but we have had enough of Irish backpackers,” he said. Mr Dunne went on to say that other nationalities living in Australia who provide accommodation services feel the same. “It reflects badly on us as we have to live up here,” he continued. Police down under have threatened to deport Irish backpackers who embark on a rampage of anti-social behaviour which was revealed in an email forwarded to an Aussie-based GAA Club. “…please spread the word to your fellow Irish, as this is affecting all our reputations here, not only the people who are causing the trouble,” stated the email.
