I agree with what you’re saying here about the economy to a point, I don’t think there will be a sudden crash though. There are still tens of billions in mining investment projects happening, but its slowing down which is a good thing, as the aussie dollar will lose some of its value, especially as mineral prices continue to fall. But the banks have huge reservoirs of cash available to them, when you consider the multi billion dollar profits they’ve made in the last ten years and they are very conservative institutions, just look at how they react to interest rate cuts. They don’t. Which is a good thing, the underlying basis of the economy is sound. There are high levels of personal debt when you consider the amount owing on mortgages, but if you look at retail spending over the last 4 years, its been dire and people are actually reducing things like credit card debt.

I actually thought property prices would have fallen significantly more to date than they have, but its a fairly resilliant market and the demand is still there. But I agree that negative equity will start to become a problem soon. Crash? No.

Do you believe the bank’s numbers Fitzy? The Irish banks were audited by the big four you know.

Ask them straight up if they saw anyone near your ute as they were leaving yesterday. Make sure to tell them that your tools were stolen out of the back and you’re absolutely going to kick lumps out of the thief when you find them. You could add in something like the boss has threatened to fire you unless you find the tools. If you’re good at reading people you’ll know by their reactions whether they took them or not.

Alternatively are there any CCTV cameras where the cars were parked.

The box alone was 250. Drill bits worth 250-300. Router bits, a load if them, don’t know how many, between 20 & 80 dollars a pop. It was all my bit really. Pliers, snips etc etc. When totted up it’s quite a bit. Hammers and heavier stuff in another bag thank god.

My name us in virtually everything, but that won’t matter much. I’d say they were stolen to use, not sell.

You should do a Chewy on it and shove your thumb right up one of their arseholes.

Safest bet is to just use the cctv angle, as in, the cops want to talk to you as your van was last spotted next to mine etc, they’ll probably only take finger prints to see if you match the prints all over the back of my ute, i’m not saying it’s you but immigration are being called in too etc etc One of the two will surely flinch or get a wave of panic. I wouldnt go throwing belts without solid proof.
