I was talking to a medical consultant based in Melbourne over the Xmas. He said he is milking Oz for all it’s worth, but that he place is fucked. Property prices gone through he roof, cost of booze, groceries etc through the roof. Reckons its like watching Ireland implode all over again. asked a few others then who are/were over there and view was that still high wages available for unskilled, but work nothing like as freely available as a few yrs ago.
Never been to oz so no direct experience myself. Will be some disaster for us if Oz is ruled out as an outlet for emigration

43c here today, humidity in single digits, winds about 40kms, serious fire danger. Tasmania has large fires and people missing. 102 fires in NSW, 21 uncontained.
