My brother law has premium tickets for the Gabba and he said i can use them any time I want - sportswise the broncos and the roar are getting all the attention here but that might change a bit when the AFL starts
Essedon coach James hird in the shit now.
Accused last night be this Sports Scientist guy Dack that he was shooting up different banned substances last year. Now he was not playing, but still a coach taking performance enhancing drugs is just a bit weird.
Calls into question his playing career and if true proves there was drugs on the Essedon grounds. He was a brownlow medalist so this is big news.
The deals ASADA have tried to do with the AFL to hang Dack and the NRL seem ti be blowing up in it’s face (NRL recently found out that ASADA offered plea margins and suspect deals with AFL that were not offered to the NRL). Dace was obviously going to be made a scapegoat and decided he ain’t going down alone.
This should get nasty.
Rumors Hird has stepped aside just for this weeks game against Freo over here. That’s not 100% clear.
strange shit going on alright. Reports that your man Dank was giving injections of pigs brains and birthing cows milk to players too. All sounds fucked up no matter what transpires. I reckon there is a massive cover up to the whole lot of it, and they are hoping it all gets buried and they dont dig up the past. Whther Dank is throwing mud to make himself better, or as you say, not going down alone, who knows. There is probably a middle ground to it all, but I would have no doubts that Essendon, and other clubs, were complicit in drug programs
They are seriously nervous about it all alright. The AFL is seriously silent in certain things though.
There is ine major star who is implicated and it’s “rumored” alot of the cover up is to protect him and his team mates and the general public perception of AFL, they are big on the manliness, honesty of their players, Autralias game etc etc. So this is very uncomfortable for them. It’s alright for the immigrant uneducated Rugby League players, but not our boys.

not sure if its buddy you refer to, but I know there was massive rumours on him last year, and that the games he missed were suspension rather than injury. but the rumours seemd to be more for recreational drugs than PEDs. it’ll be interesting to see if they keep sweeping it under the carpet and shying away from it all, or coming down heavy on guilty parties.
Talk today on local news that if there is a whole club involved i.e. Essedon, then the AFL is expected to come down hard and give life suspensions across the board and almost let them start from the bottom like GWS. All the ex pro’s are pushing this big time.
It’s funny how Fox Footy more or less avoid it completely
Bombers had a massive win in Freo last night. James Hird is more adamant than ever he’s telling the truth, at this stage it’s hard not to believe him to be honest.
Melbourne with a massively improved first half against Eagles today, but getting over run now. Still, a good bit more bottle shown.

Did you believe Bertie Ahern when he was adamant he was telling the truth? Or Lance Armstrong?
As it happened no, both looked like they were lying thru their teeth, this doesn’t. They also had incredible amounts of evidence against them. This guy has only one real dodgy “sports scientist” making the claims against him.
Big win for St kilda this morning
They are pretty poor though and were playing GWS. No.1 draft Johnaton Patin did his ACL the poor bastard, very good prospect. His size may cOme against a true total recovery.

It’s pretty captivating though.
Hird wouldn’t really have seemed like the drugged up type as a player either. He would have been more of an intelligence and skill player (as much as you’d get in AFL anyway) and relatively skinny too.
I wonder can we claim back all our International Rules defeats in light of these revelations. Roid rage would certainly explain some of the hardman antics although that type of attitude is par for the course for a lot of Aussie males in general I suppose.

I don’t know gola, they are fairly weak in alot of areas, an awful lot of it is posturing and insecurity. The amount of energy they lose roaring and shouting in a dressing room and congratulating each other for absolutely everything they do is a touch weird ti be honest.
The game itself is ruined I think by te length of the game, 2 hours of play, it’s crazy. It means endurance trumps everything else. It would be a great game if they had 4 20 minute 1/4’s. You get teams dominating for 3/4’s of the game losing alot if the time. That should be a rarity.
They were trying to suggest Hird was testing the drugs for te players. It’s a bit far fetched really.
