Australia - Sycophantic Colonial Outpost

The eldest of the Brown offspring is going daan onda for a bit of a tour meeting friends out there for a month or so. Going to give her a few dolla going. What sort of clout has the Au$ compared to ā‚¬uro?

Weeks rent in Bondi - $800
Pint - $12
Schooner - $8
Funbag - $300

If heā€™s paying his way Iā€™d allow $2500/wk excl any internal flights.

New Zealand has almost tripled the levy for tourists to enter the country from October to NZ$100 (ā‚¬56) from NZ$35 (ā‚¬19.60) to ā€œensure visitors contribute to public services and high-quality experiences while visiting New Zealandā€.

Theyā€™d want to improve their signage a bitā€¦

The NT already jails children at a rate 11 times higher than any other jurisdiction in the country, and almost all of them are Aboriginal.

This is a completely disgusting action by a horribly racist state government. The same is likely to happen in QLD when the Nazis are elected there as well.

Not that we would want them to get in the way of a right wing narrative, but hereā€™s some facts.
3% of Australiaā€™s population are Indigenous.
28% of the prison population is Indigenous.
Of that cohort, 81% have hearing impairments, caused by malnutrition, disease and lack of healthcare when they were children. They couldnā€™t hear anything. They get treated as thick in school as a result, drop out and away they go. They hadnā€™t a hope.
One of the richest countries in the world. What a place.

Thought Brisbane inner suburbs went green at the last election

Just to be clear though and for all of @horriblecunt outrage, we are just as bad

The Irish Traveller community is a distinct ethnic minority in Ireland, and they face a range of social challenges. Here is a summary of the statistics regarding Travellers in Ireland:

  1. Percentage of the Irish population who are Travellers:

Travellers make up approximately 0.7% of the population of Ireland. According to the 2016 Census, there were about 30,987 Travellers in a total population of 4.76 million. The numbers likely increased slightly since then, but the percentage remains similar.

  1. Percentage of Travellers in prison:

Travellers are significantly over-represented in Irish prisons. Estimates suggest that between 10% and 22% of the Irish prison population are Travellers, despite only making up less than 1% of the total population. This overrepresentation points to deep inequalities in education, employment, and social exclusion faced by the Traveller community.

  1. Life expectancy of Travellers compared to the settled population:

Travellers experience a much lower life expectancy compared to the settled population:

Traveller men live on average 15 years less than settled men.

Traveller women live on average 11 years less than settled women.

For example, the life expectancy of a Traveller man is around 61.7 years, while it is 77 years for the general male population. For Traveller women, it is 70 years, compared to 82 years for settled women.

These disparities highlight the significant health, social, and economic challenges faced by the Traveller community in Ireland.
