Few players can beat Thiem when he plays at the top of his game. His performance against Djokovic at the ATP finals was the best performance I saw last year. Djokovic was at close to the top of his game in that match but couldn’t cope with Thiem. Thiem’s problem has been consistency in the past.
If he brings his A game on Sunday. I fancy him to win his maiden slam. He has the durability and movement to stick with Djokovic and he has the weapons to strike early which Djokovic does not like.
Djokovic will go in as the favourite and rightly so but I like what I’ve seen from Thiem in the past year or so.
