Russian Forces have already shot down airplanes this week.
They have the tech to do it.
My bet is that a local Ruskie commander got excited and has just taken down a jet which is on a codeshare with a NATO member. It’s possible that article 5 could even be invoked.
Oh Jesus, not article 5, of all the articles, 5 is the last thing we need.
The Ukranians have all the same fucking hardware
Maybe so, but they dont gave form for shooting down commercial airliners, unlike the crazy ivans
When I was planning my project I wasn’t sure if I’d wait until after the World Cup or not and the 16th/17th of July were two of the dates I was strongly considering. A quick look at Skyscanner showed that the Aer Lingus/Malaysian Airlines route Dublin-Amsterdam-Kuala Lumpur-Sydney was a very reasonable €736 return and was a route I was strongly considering. I didn’t because of an irrational fear that the plane might crash.
Therefore I’m falsely going to try and claim to be a tenuous Irish angle in this story , because I could have been on that flight, there but for the grace of God go I etc, blah blah, and am available for interviews with Ireland AM and the Evening Herald, for money.
I am actually astonished that there were no Irish on board though.

Haven’t announced all the nationalities yet but it is odd.
Well done on being the first official survivor. Of course Sydney and Manuel Zelaya are the second and third. Three survivors from one chat forum …

Thanks, mate. Sidney’s dead though, I’m afraid. Manuel is somewhere in either Wexford or Tunbridge Wells, I’d imagine. Despite us being the same person, we are in fact, different people.

We’ve taken that flight several times going back and forth, its an air partner or whatever the term is with KLM so you could fly the return leg with KLM.
There are always lots of Australians on it too

27 on this, not enough.
Lots of people travelling to an AIDS conference in Melbourne. In my view, God has struck this plane down.
