“Yeah lads, well i suppose things didn’t go right for ye on the day. We had a look at it from a few different angles but the results of our findings are inconclusive. We can’t, i suppose, rule anything in or out for definite either way. Now where’s my money?”
Your concern is touching mate. My flight was out of Southampton. Initially I presumed I’d just overnight there but all the flights to Dublin today were booked up and I certainly didn’t intend to stay till Wed. In the end I got a 2.5 hr train direct from Siuthampton airport to Birmingham airport and will be flying home from here this morning. Hopefully.
The ferry is great to be fair, it just takes too damn long. If i was living in Dublin/Wexford or somewhere close to there i think i’d get the ferry almost every time. But for Limerick you’re looking at 2hrs 30mins drive after the ferry sailing which could be 3-4hrs in itself plus waiting time. So you’d have the guts of a full day wasted on travel.
A girl I work with used this option yesterday as she had to be back in Dublin last night and her Sunday evening flight from LCY was cancelled. She said the train to Holyhead was just full of Irish people whose flights had been cancelled. The Swift sailing had her back in Dublin Port by 7pm last night. London airports chaotic again today apparently.
Actually, I looked at ICG shares a couple of years ago. Tracks the economy well. Basically a duoply. Pays a dividend and as far as I remember shareholders get a discount on ferry trips.
